"And so I again appeal to you to instruct your appropriate officials to negotiate my release."

The White House responded to the demands then by saying that it wouldn't negotiate with Al Qaeda.

“My life is in your hands, Mr. President,” he said in the message which appeared to be directed at Obama. “If you accept the demands, I live. If you don’t accept the demands, then I die.

“I've done a lot of service for my country, and I would hope that my country will now look after me and take care of me and meet the demands of the mujahedeen,” he added.

Mr Weinstein who lived for others was collateral damage. No negotiating unless for a good Muslim's son who joined the Taliban.

Is this sacrifice a glimpse into the international strategy of the administration? Israel is not safe.

Weinstein learned nothing from the set-up kidnapping and beheading of Daniel Pearl (Wall Street Journal reporter) in Pakistan.

Pearl was killed because he was Jewish and an American.

Weinstein is both.

Berg in Cuba was both.

Nick Berg, beheaded in Iraq, was both (but he was a really good guy. His father was a leftist flake).

The CIA guy named Weinstein who disappeared on an Iranian island many years ago was both an American and Jewish.

Come on people. Get it through your thick heads. If you are Jewish are you automatically a target of terrorists in the Middle East, and if you are an American you are also a target for terrorists in the Middle East.

Despite all the good you may do over there, someone is eventually going to get you and you will die.

The thing that struck me today about Obama’s announcement was they he almost completely refused to say the man's Jewish last name, “Weinstein”. I think he said it just once. He repeatedly referred to him instead as “Warren”, his first name, as if he knew him personally, about 20 times.
