Cruz is the real deal. Walker is a political animal whom I happen to support.
Oh here we go with the H1B crap again.
Off for a nap. Question - Is the H 1B program so many want to tag Cruz with unconstitutional?
Here’s the one link I could find link:
Here’s the Tea Party blurb:
Led the fight against the Gang of Eight immigration bill in the U.S. Senate. Critiqued the bills flawed approach amnesty first, border security second and argued citizenship should not be offered to those who came to the U.S. illegally. Highlighted the Obamacare amnesty tax, which makes illegal immigrants cheaper to hire than citizens and legal immigrants. Counter-proposed a real border security plan, and to expand the legal immigration system with expanded citizenship and a five-fold increase in H-1B visas for high-tech workers.
What makes Scott Walkers newly clarified position so surprising is that the Walker is almost entirely the political creation of the business and Chamber of Commerce wing of the Republican Party that supports amnesty and most especially the expansion of legal immigration that would allow them to continue to lower their costs by importing techno-coolies to displace American engineers, computer programmers and other middle-income professional employees.
The Chamber and various business interests pumped millions of dollars into Scott Walkers campaigns in Wisconsin, particularly his successful effort to fight a union-inspired recall, and according to the dance with the one what brung ya calculus of politics youd think Walker would adopt their position on amnesty and expanding legal immigration, but this week he joined Ted Cruz and came out strongly against the Bush Rubio positions on those issues.
The thing about his recent statements, is that he's attacking illegal immigration from an economic perspective, when he should treat it as the military/national security issue that it is.
I'd of course vote for him in a heartbeat if he's the nominee, but he needs to have a Jimmy Swaggart moment over it.
Yet there are scads of people here who think it’s the best thing he’s ever said...
That is why you would never win an election.
Disclaimer: I agree with your position, but it will not work in front of an emotional public.
By saying illegal immigrants are a military/national security issue, your opponents will show the dirty faces of little illegal children and ask the camera: "Do you see a military issue here? Should we use drones against little Pablo?"
What Walker has done is put the unemployed American worker as the victim here. Few people will argue we need to put Pablo before Americans who are hurting.
Walker can show an out of work woman, with an armful of children asking why did she lose her job to an illegal alien who is getting an Obama work permit?
That is how you win arguments.
I think Walker can do OK without prostitutes
Gov. Walker will do a “Pence” on his legal immigration stance— I don’t think he’ll hold it.
I am not convinced of Walker’s sincerity on the issue. I’d like to hear him explain his conversion story. Right now, I believe that the change is pure political expediency. I have a problem trusting anyone who ever bought the amnesty arguments; in fact I tend toward despising such politicians.
Is Scott better than a Democrat? Yes, but not better enough.
Are you saying that Gov. Walker should have an emotional breakdown on national TV, screaming, “Ah have sinned”? lol
That said, it's extraordinarily unsettling to me when I encounter a politician coming late to the party in recognizing a national threat of this magnitude.
Throngs of impoverished, uneducated individuals pouring over the southern border with little or no intention of assimilating into the American culture or learning English is an existential threat to the USA; it's a nation killer over time. Violent criminals and ISIS mixed in with the throng makes it an immediate life and death matter of national security. It's my number one concern and has been for many years. The only other threat I place at equal importance to the USA today is ISIS or Iran getting control of nuclear weapons.
If Scott Walker is NOT as you state, we’ll need at least one iota of proof of any action he’s taken on illegal immigration.
I’m getting more and more pressure to speak Spanish in my neck of the woods. No indication of when, how, with whose resources and with what motivation im to use to learn it. I’m kind of busy paying tens of thousand s in taxes,
Walker talks to the right of cruz on immigration MAYbe, this is mistaken around here for Walker IS to the right of cruz on immigration.
don’t know what it is with people and their need to ruin the country
I’m glad Walker has talked to Sen. Sessions and gotten his mind right. Not completely sure I believe him.
His previous statements, close relationship with Priebus and Ryan (cheap labor importers), and even now talking about some future immigration system like we don’t already have one, make me nervous.
There has been an organization that calls itself Voces de la Frontera in WI since 2002. When you have a group of foreigners setting up shop saying they are the Voices of the Frontier (of Mexico) many miles from the real frontier of Mexico perhaps you should notice that your state is being colonized.
He shows no character involvement on immigration just a lot of sweet talk.
No reasoning, no motivation, no history no epiphany nothing.
Is it just me? am I jaded from a past of a lot of eleventh grade boys whom I never believed, who were all talk, but who could always find some dopey or slutty girl? Because the Walker lovers around here are shockingly ready to believe what he tells them with no testing of character. Reminds me of dopey high school girls
Follow the money. I don’t believe in “Whitehouse Road” conversions.
