I heard Harf’s briefing and she finished the briefing by saying we have “hope” for the ships.
I’m still searching for her definition of “hope”.
“We ‘hope’ nothing happens.”
“We ‘hope’ the ships have good food.”
“We ‘hope’ we sink Iran’s ships.”
“We ‘hope’ the Iranian sailors love us.”
Our State Department under Kerry is worse than none at all.
I would guess that the carrier is there to prevent Israel from taking measures. It’s what I would expect from Obama.
I would bet that Obama’s rules of engagement would require presidential authorization to shoot back if attacked by the Iranians. The Iranians know that Obama will do nothing.

Other than harfness, a carrier group in the Gulf doesn’t seem too odd. In my memory, it’s a pretty regular occurrence. Every couple of years there seems to be two carrier groups there, which is noted as a little unusual. Am I missing something? Is this really unusual, or is it unusual that a spokesditz like Harf would be excessively obscurantist about it?
bh0’s statesmanship now has the US flying air support for Iranian backed Iraqi and Iranian army forces fighting against ISIS, while the Saudi’s are fighting against the Iranian back Houfis (Don’t remember spelling) that is fighting against the Yemani government (former) and possibly against or with the ISIS forces who are also against the former Yemani government. And the TR is in the gulf to aid one side or the other, bh0 hasn’t figured out which side he is on there yet. (awaiting Huma & Valerie Jarrett’s input/decision?)
Seriously, our Navy can protect themselves, if and only if they have reasonable rules of engagement.
I really don't trust Obama or his stooges with valuing or protecting the lives of our military.
Whatever the TR is doing, I pray for their safety.
I would hate to see the Rules of Engagement for that task force.
