Scott Walker, a likely 2016 GOP presidential candidate, pledged to protect American workers from the economic effects, not only of illegal immigration but also of a massive increase in legal immigration.

This is what I want to hear.

I’m a Cruz guy but I like Walker too. I hope these two guys wind up as partners over the next eight years.

At this point, I believe that Walker has a stronger stance on immigration (perhaps from being educated by Jeff Sessions). Cruz wants to dramatically expand H-1B Visas, Walker seems to be opposed to this. If Walker is for limiting legal immigration, I say: Go Walker!

Scott Walker has flipped on amnesty and Ted Cruz supports increasing H-1B visas to bring in more high tech workers from overseas. Both of them are inconsistent and wobbly on the whole immigration issue, but they’re the two best candidates in the GOP field. If both Walker and Cruz support the strong stand that Jeff Sessions has taken then I have no problem voting for either one of them.

My ideal candidate figured out years ago that excessive immigration - legal or illegal - is a big problem. But since that candidate doesn't appear to be running, I have to say Walker's better-late-than-never epiphany currently puts him ahead of Cruz in my book.

Yeah, he has such a stellar record he had a honorary day in WI. That particular day was a state official commemorative day honoring all the work ILLEGAL ALIENS did for businesses in the state.

So far, that is the only record he has concerning illegal immigration unless you consider what has come out of his mouth lately. He is after all, a politician.

Erik, I was flat out lied to last night. I was assured Walker hand changed his tune on immigration. I was assured he was going to make them all go home. I said it seemed to me it took him 15 years to come to the right decision of that was correct. And then we find out it wasn’t correct.

So you tell me who is to be trusted. Here:

LISTEN! This from March 1st, 2015

10:20 in this video

Scott is asked if illegal pay a fine, if they can stay.

Listen to his garbled answer yourself. He says he believes a way can be found to do that.

I have been highly suspicious of the claim he changed his mind. I’m glad I was.

When faced with real situations (not hypotheticals) Walker always implemented conservatism! He removed in-state tuition for illegals. He barred sanctuary cities.

So, as a governor of a Midwest state, that does not have a massive illegal problem or border, he always did the right thing when the issue came to the fore.

Walker was not going to fall into the trap set in that interview to say illegals cannot stay. Then, he would be tarred as supporting mass deportations....something no candidate supports.

Even Cruz supports work permits for illegals and sending them to the back of the line for citizenship.

His comments were that he was open to the idea of working something out with a fine. But he also made clear that they do not get citizenship...just like Cruz. Something you conveniently omitted.

I totally trust him on this issue as much as I trust Cruz on this issue.....except Cruz has no real record on immigration as he has not had to do anything except make speeches and offer amendments.

Walker did things.

I like Cruz, I think he's our best candidate.

He has a vision for conservatism and knows how to lay it out. He also knows how to deal with the media better than any candidate since Reagan.

I think you may be short changing him a bit.

Talk about lying, you tried lying to me on a thread last night about what you had said.

You've been caught lying before, you should have no credibility here.

Walker is for letting illegal immigrants stay, and being untruthful about that.

Cruz wants more H-1B visa entries into the nation.

I don’t like either of those stances, and it does cause me to mistrust them.

You mischaracterized this as me lying.

You knew better.

I think you may be short changing him a bit.

I like Cruz as well, but can't stop myself from poking his supporters once in a while....especially those who attack Walker.

We have two great candidates in Cruz and Walker. Both are fine.

I didn’t retract anything I said. How is that walking back my comment?

Once again you prove you’re not up to the task of making a charge against me and making it stick.

Here are two instances you linked me to, when I asked you to link me to where I have lied.

There isn’t an untruth from me in either post, and I was consistent in both.

If you don’t know these aren’t lies, you’re incompetant. If you did know these aren’t lies, then you’re the liar.

Hopefully, these candidates have tucked into their strategy portfolio, the fact that immigration reform is all about how to keep 12 million of these squatters from gaming the elections with a democrat-socialist electorate. That is the bottom line. There will be a showdown soon to game the system and the Obama Regime is hell bent on doing it. Our bench had better be ready to play on the final stretch.

I don’t like either of those stances, and it does cause me to mistrust them.

Actually what you said is you didn't trust either of them, I even linked to that quote. I also asked you about what you meant, and instead of explaining you tried to avoid dealing with what you had said. You come on to these Walker threads, insult people who like him and try to browbeat them into believing Walker is a cheap whore of a liar, when you lie, and you have lied often enough that you should be ashamed of yourself. I'm a Cruz guy my self, but watching you pull this lying crap is disgusting. I've seen it before, and there is no doubt I'll see you do it again.

It was noticeable, and your proceeded prevarication and attempts to walk it back were clear.

You tried to lie your way out of it, but I've seen this before over and over with you.

You pretend to be the smartest person on FR, you exaggerate what you know, try to browbeat people like a little brownshirt, and you outright lie to people.

I'm used to it, I call you on it, and you hate that I do so, and the cycle repeats. It's who you've become, I just point it out.

Mistrust?  You don't know that "didn't trust them" and "miustrust them" are the same thing?  This is a restatement of the prior comment.  That's all it is.

Actually, I wasn't seeking to provide a quote to you.  I was further explaining my thoughts on the subject, and you didn't grasp the true meaning of this, or how it fit into the dynamics of our conversation either.

LakeShark, I expect you to reveal at least some basic communicative skills when we converse.  I said something very plain and simple, and you responded by asking me what I meant by it.  I wasn't going to play that game with you.  I expect you to know English and be able to comprehend simple short sentences.  If you can't, then that explains why you don't understand so many issues we discuss.

I also asked you about what you meant, and instead of explaining you tried to avoid dealing with what you had said.

Once again, if you can't grasp short simple clear sentences, please refrain from trying to discuss issues with me.  There could be no mistaking what I meant with that short sentence.  There could be no mistaking what I meant with the sentence above.  This is not a statement of avoidence.  I didn't deflect or disavow what I had already said.  I restated it a bit differently.  That is all.  As an U. S. Citizen that knows, or shoud know English, you should be able to figure this out on your own.  That you obviosuly can't, is revealing.

Is English your second language?  I'm not trying to insult you by asking, but perhaps I should know.  If it is, I'll try to help out as best I can by simplifying my comments even more for you.  And that would be difficult considering how simple these sentences were.  None the less, you didn't understand them.

You come on to these Walker threads, insult people who like him and try to browbeat them into believing Walker is a cheap whore of a liar, when you lie, and you have lied often enough that you should be ashamed of yourself.

Look at your tactics when dealing with me on this thread, and then come back and try to tell me again that I browbeat you into anything.  I have discussed this with you and defended my stance.

Walker revealed himself to be exactly what type of person he is.  I have explained what I thought about it.  If my words weren't true, folks could listen and discover that for themselves.  That seems rather open and honest to me.

Okay, look, I accepted you saying this in the midst of your other rants.  I asked you to link me to a place where I lied.  You didn't bother.

You not providing one instance where I lied, I'll leave it to others to determine for themselves who should be ashamed of themself.

I'm a Cruz guy my self, but watching you pull this lying crap is disgusting. I've seen it before, and there is no doubt I'll see you do it again.

I'm not confident you're a Cruz supporter.  Just sayin'. I'm still waiting for that link, and you're beginning to repeat yourself adnausium.

It was noticeable, and your proceeded prevarication and attempts to walk it back were clear.

"
I don’t like either of those stances, and it does cause me to mistrust them."

How anyone could read this and think it was walking back my earier statement, I don't know.  It is an addition to my earlier statement.  I was wasn't a retraction or a statement that conflicted with my first in any way.

Once again, your English and comprehension skills are seriously in question.

You tried to lie your way out of it, but I've seen this before over and over with you.

Yeah, you already made this charge four times and have implied it two or three other times.  This post of yours could have been boiled down to a few short sentences, but you must have fealt it would be very revealing, if you said the same thing five or six times over and over.  I have provided your comments and am providing responses to each of them.

You pretend to be the smartest person on FR, you exaggerate what you know, try to browbeat people like a little brownshirt, and you outright lie to people.

Five.  And now you stoop to calling me a brown-shirt because I say what I think about parts of a Walker interview, point out why, and link folks to the interview so they can listen for themselves.

You are doing exactly what you acuse me of doing.  I'm not doing it, but you are.  You can't even grasp that.  If I'm lying here, folks will know.  They will know because I have linked them to proof.

Walker lied.  I linked people to it.  You say I've lied.  Link me to where I have.  You say I do it all the time.  Where's your link?

I'm used to it, I call you on it, and you hate that I do so, and the cycle repeats. It's who you've become, I just point it out.

I'm comfortable with folks reading this post from you, and my response to it.

They will determine who is playing the role you accuse me of playing here.

Scott has a problem.

He states his immigration policy has changed. Sadly, it hasn’t.

What do you do if you want to protect the jobs of U. S. Citizens?

Don’t you send back the people who are here illegally holding down jobs?

In 2006/07 Scott supported the McCain Kennedy Comprehensive Immigration reform bill. He confirm this in the linked video at the bottom of this post. McCain/Kennedy supported illegals paying a fine and staying in the U. S.

In 2013, Scott supported illegals aliens paying a fine and staying in the United States. Video of him saying so is in the video.

On 2015, March 1st, Scott was asked if he thought illegals who paid a fine should be able to stay in the U. S. He responded with, I believe a way can be found to do that.

Scott’s policy has remained consistent from the 2006/07 time frame until at least March 1st, 2015. It hasn’t changed.

Scott’s claim in the video linked at the bottom of this post that he didn’t believe in amnesty, and that his policy had changed is not true. Once an illegal is registered, they are legal U. S. residents. They don’t have to fear extradition.

Immigration is discussed starting at 9:20 and the “...a way can be found...” is located at 10:20

At 3:10 Scott discusses whether Obama loves the United States or not. In this discussion he agrees that anyone who seeks public office has to love this country, so Obama must love this county.

Do we have any Conservatives at all here who think Obama loves this country?
