Hillary Clinton Caught Exaggerating the Number of Immigrant Grandparents She Has

Presidential candidates who can authentically can talk about their relationship to the American Immigrant Experience can sometimes experience a boost in public opinion, which is why Hillary Clinton recently spoke about how her grandparents — all of them — always talked to her about emigrating to America. A recent report indicates, however, that most of them weren’t exactly immigrants.

According to Andrew Kaczynski, three of Clinton’s grandparents were not immigrants: Census data and draft cards from the 1920′s and 1930′s revealed that her paternal grandmother was born in Pennsylvania, and both of her maternal grandparents were born in Illinois. (That’s three out of four grandparents, which is a 75% incorrect rate.)

However, during a speech in Iowa yesterday, Clinton said this:

All my grandparents, you know, came over here and you know my grandfather went to work in lace mill in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and worked there until he retired at 65. He started there when he was a teenager and just kept going. So I sit here and I think well you’re talking about the second, third generation. That’s me, that’s you. While the grandfather in Scranton was, indeed, an immigrant from Wales, Clinton has claimed that specific grandparents were immigrants: In a speech from last year, Clinton also incorrectly referred to her paternal grandmother, Hanna Jones Rodham, as having “immigrated with her family as a young girl to Scranton” when she was, in fact, born in Pennsylvania.

Now, second generation experiences are a fairly legitimate subject to discuss in America, but they’re wildly different from the first generation — a.k.a. “the immigrant” — experience. So technically, if you’re going from Clinton’s maternal grandparents, she’s a fourth-generation American, which doesn’t particularly have the same ring as My grandparents came over from the Old Country with everything they owned in a sack and they told me about the hardships of the potato famines and the war crimes, etc.

Which is a more straightforward way of saying the following, given to CNN by Clinton’s spokesperson:

“Her grandparents always spoke about the immigrant experience and, as a result she has always thought of them as immigrants,” a Clinton campaign spokesperson said on Thursday. “As has been correctly pointed out, while her grandfather was an immigrant, it appears that Hillary’s grandmother was born shortly after her parents and siblings arrived in the U.S. in the early 1880s.”

So, I can remember during the 2000 Senate campaign she talked about her supposed Jewish roots. Anything to paint the façade known as Hillary (oops, I am being sexist by just using her first name).

Chelsea is the daughter of a “dead broke” Arkansas family.

Which makes her ascent to a $10 million Manhattan home at age 30 even more inspiring for Americans to cherish!

Remember that time she tried to claim she’s part JEWISH...?? Via a grandparent.

Another silly scam of hers was claiming she and Bill before 2008 were thinking of having another child. That was somewhat after Palin had hers.

Baby wars, if you will.

Chubby fan —> Yankees fan.

Etc etc etc etc

Why has it become fashionable for politicians to brag about their lack of heart connections to the United States?

The business about her being a Yankee fan was so crazy.

She is from Chicago. She said due to that she was a Cubs fan. But the Cubs were in the National League, but she also wanted an American League team to root for. And that’s why she was a Yankee fan.

I always wondered why nobody ever asked her, well Hillary, as a Chicago resident wanting an American League team to cheer for, why didn’t you root for the Chicago White Sox??? Why would you choose the Yankees instead???? The whole thing just didn’t make sense the way she explained it.

During a stop in Nepal while on a south Asian goodwill tour in April 1995, First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton briefly met with Sir Edmund Hillary,
the famed mountain climber who was the first to reach the top of Mount Everest.

On that occasion the First Lady told reporters that she had in fact been named after the man who conquered Everest.

Hillary told the story of how, upon her birth, her mother named her Hillary in honor of Sir Edmond Hilary and his ascent of Mt. Everest.

Hillary Clinton was born in 1947.

Sir Edmond Hilary climbed Mt. Everest in 1953.

“For more than a decade, Sen. Clinton’s informal biography repeated the story, and it was recounted in former President
Bill Clinton’s 2004 autobiography, “My Life.”

Don’t expect this latest round of blatant, egregious lying to be mentioned on the alphabet nightly news. Now, of course if this had been Ted Cruz telling these kinds of lies, it’d be FEATURED on every channel for weeks.

"I remember landing under sniper fire.
There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport,
but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base."

(During an introduction to a foreign policy speech on March 17, 2008, Sennator
Hillary Clinton reminisced about a trip she made as first lady to Bosnia, in March 1996.)

Being a compulsive liar is one thing. But a clumsy compulsive liar who’s been so easily caught dozens of times over decades and yet is continually handed serious responsibilities (Senator and Sec. Of State) is something else. Almost makes one suspect demonic forces at work.

It is her very nature to lie. In one sense she cannot help it she probably even lies to herself while looking in the mirror in the morning.

"Clinton Caught Exaggerating the Number of Immigrant Grandparents She Has"

Uh, no. Exaggerating is a general inflation of numbers - like looking at a crowd of about 100 people and calling it 'hundreds' or 'thousands'.

When you're talking about 4 people who are PART OF YOUR IMMEDIATE FAMILY AND THEIR HISTORY IS KNOWN AND/OR DISCOVERABLE, it's called LYING.

Well if lies were dollars she would be a multi billionaire instead of just a lowly thieving measly millionaire.

I would suggest that sheer stupidity is a work, at least on her/its part. Shrillary is NOT that bright - why else lie when the lies are so transparent? She may THINK that she's the sharpest knife in the drawer, but she's really about as dumb as a rock. Ted Cruz is going to slice her up like a Thanksgiving turkey in the debates.

Exaggerating my fanny - I heard the soundbite. That was a blatant intentional lie.

Not as stupid as those who support, excuse, and will vote for her. More intelligence, and less toxicity, can be found in a dish of e coli than a meeting of Democrat party faithful.
