AUSTIN, Texas Tuesday evening after Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) announced he was running for president, dozens of #LibertyKaraoke events all across the country helped the new candidate recruit hundreds of volunteers and kickstart his campaign fundraising.
Liberty Karaoke was originally conceived as a casual fundraiser targeted to young libertarians, to gather regularly for karaoke, network with other like-minded friends, and make online donations to liberty-oriented candidates. The concept had successfully raised thousands of dollars for Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI) and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), but Pauls entrance into the presidential race inspired supporters to take what had been a weekly gathering at OSullivans Irish Pub in Arlington, Virginia, into a national, headline-making event.

Do you think that Rand Paul is pro-life when he describes himself pro-life in general?
The thing is about abortionand about a lot of thingsis that I think people get tied up in all these details of, sort of, youre this or this or that, or youre hard and fast (on) one thing or the other, Paul told Elliott. Ive supported both bills with and without (exceptions), you know. In general, I am pro-life. ?
Rand reminds me so much of Mitt Romney, he can evolve instantly and frequently.
CNN:
BLITZER: So, just to be precise, if you believe life begins at conception, which I suspect you do believe that, you would have no exceptions for rape, incest, the life of the mother, is that right?
PAUL: Well, I think that once again puts things in too small of a box. What I would say is that there are thousands of exceptions. You know, Im a physician and every individual case is going to be different, and everything is going to be particular to that individual case and whats going on with that mother and the medical circumstances of that mother.
I would say that after birth, you know, weve decided that when life begins, we have decided that we dont have exceptions for one- day-old or six-month-olds. We dont ask where they came from or how they came into being, but it is more complicated because the rest of it depends on the definition of when life comes in. So, I dont think its a simple as checking box and saying exceptions or no exceptions.
And there are a lot of decisions that are made privately by families and their doctors that really wont the law wont apply to, but I think its important that we not be flippant one way or the other and pigeon hole and say, oh, this person doesnt believe in any sort of discussion between family. And so, I dont know if theres a simple way to put me in a category on any of that.
BLITZER: Well, it sounds like you believe in some exceptions.
PAUL: Well, theres going to be, like I say, thousands of extraneous situations where the life of the mother is involved and other things that are involved.
So, I would say that each individual case would have to be addressed and even if there were eventually a change in the law, lets say, the people came more to my way of thinking, its still be a lot of complicated things that the law may not ultimately be able to address in the early stages of pregnancy that would have to be part of what occurs between the physician and the woman and the family.

Why did you sign up here 3 days ago if you don’t want to participate?
Rand Paul went on Kelly File tonight and she lectured him to stop having on-cam hissy fit reactions to interview questions that he doesn’t like.
Also to stop calling FNC contributors like Krauthammer neocons.
After the interview she told Perino that a skilled candidate ignores the asked questions and answers the questions that he wants to be asked,
No doubt that Rand Paul is not ready for a real run,
I am participating. I’m not going to respond to every article.
Rand will NEVER be the ‘16 GOP presidential nominee; no matter how much money hes raises or doesn’t raise.
You signed up three days ago on a conservative political discussion forum, and refuse to discuss anything with us, not even on the threads you create.
That seems very strange.
The n00b is a troll.
I actually like how Rand Paul deals with the media and I’m a Cruz supporter. Kelley needs to save her lectures for the media who ask Republicans questions they wouldn’t ask Dems
I thought Kelly gave him sound advice.
There are always a few followers who see the hissy whining fit as ‘fighting back’, but most see it for what it is, :weakness.
And weakness and whining are not leadership skills, they are loser skills.
A strong confident leader doesn't react, they are proactive. They take control,
Rand did flip-flop on a lot of stuff.
Recall his disastrous interview on Maddow MSNBC in 2011.
It was so bad that he later denied what he said on her show recorded on cam.
Media types love those who they can get a rise out of, like how a cat loves a mouse that squeaks and squirms when cornered.
That is who they will go after in interviews.
Have noticed a lot of noobies hanging around the last two months, just found this site I guess. lol
This one is a Paul-Bot, doing his duty. Whatever that means.
I’m not much of a talker, I am more of a spread the word type of guy, if you catch my drift. That being said, I joined because this is my favorite conservative site. I’m an 18 year old, who loves politics. When I was a Democrat I tried to find the truth in the liberal ideology, but found said ideology to be filled with lies and deception. I then abandoned the liberal cause, and tried to find the truth elsewhere. Eventually, I stumbled upon FR, and lets just say it was love at first sight. Freerepublic had a irresistible charm that no other website could match, and so I signed up.
Krauthammer is pretty much the textbook definition of a neocon. A neoconservative is a “new conservative.” (”Neo” means “new.”) The neocons were Democrats who suddenly announced they were “new conservatives” on domestic poliy while keeping their old globalist Democrat foreign-policy views. Krauthammer worked for Carter and Mondale before he later on became a “new conservative”.
Sorry to tell you this, but you’re a few years too late on joining FR as a conservative website.
Ignoring gotcha questions is sound advice. He handled that reporterette extremely well and should be the way all our candidates go after the media. They frame the question as an accusation to put you in a box and on the defensive then paint the world in the Marxism is normal picture.
Pray America is waking
He got asked about a number of his flip flops and instead of answering them, stating why he changed his positions, he had a hissy fit on cam.
Kelly wasn't the only one asking what is wrong with him, they were doing it on Fox and Friends this morning too.
They pointed out that he has a history of whining in these interviews because he doesn't like the questions.
They pointed out that if he cant handle these relatively straight-forward questions from Kelly Evans it will be a train wreck if he ever had to debate Hillary.
When Scott Walker is asked about things he changed his position on you don't see him whining like a drama queen.
If FR isn’t conservative anymore, what is it?
