Mitt Romney’s NCAA Bracket Was Almost Perfect
CBS Boston ^ | April 7, 2015 | CBS Boston Staff

BOSTON (CBS) –It might just be the biggest upset of the NCAA tournament.

Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts governor and 2012 Republican nominee for president, has never claimed to be an expert on basketball. But his March Madness bracket turned out to be one of the most accurate in the country, finishing in the 99.9th percentile.

Romney correctly picked Duke as the national champion, nailed the Final Four and selected six of the Elite Eight teams. His bracket was leaked by a source to the Huffington Post.

In 2012, Romney said he decided not to fill out a bracket because he was too busy campaigning. Now he just wishes he put some money on his picks.

“Should’ve put $10,000 on my bracket,” Romney tweeted after the championship game, referencing a widely-mocked remark during a 2011 presidential primary debate. “Congrats, Coach K and @DukeU.”

We can carp all we want about Romney but there is no doubt in my mind that we would not have had most of the disasters of the past three years if he had one. We wouldn’t be happy, but we wouldn’t have Obama’s absolute disasters.

The past 3 years? How 'bout the past 6+ years?

Romney is still a loser. Who cares about his NCAA picks?

I don't vote on NCAA picks. I vote on abortion, illegal immigration, guns, socialized medicine, and the size of the federal government. Romney was 100% against what I wanted on those issues.

Well, clearly, Obama was the better pick.

Doesn't matter much if the guy can't get elected. Romney proved he was 'unelectable' every time he lost. And he's only held public office once.

Yep, he's unelectable, regardless of what the GOP-E says. Reality proves otherwise.

Nope. No liberal is the only pick. Romney doesn't match, and neither does Obama. Liberals and those that support them can pound sand.

Conflating not voting for Romney as voting for Obama is a GOP-E dirty trick.

If you refused to vote against Obama then it’s no wonder your conscience is eating you alive.

BS. When the libs vote for their candidate who is “not lib enough,” they work to change him or her to their liking. People like you stay at home and cry.

sure is

bump

Romney was a liberal, pretending to be “severely conservative” but nominating him even took ObamaCare off the big debate topics.

He was destined to lose.

I agree but I have a hard time believing that Romney would be worse then Obama. The states would still be reducing abortion access. We probably wouldn’t have socialized medicine because Romney would not have gotten it through the Congress. I don’t know. Obama certainly has destroyed our country.

Nope. My conscience is fine.

Not voting for a liberal, any liberal, is the goal, and I managed that in that particular race.

Voting for a liberal, even a republican liberal must be eating YOU alive.

I'm not a republican. I'm a conservative. I don't vote for liberals. Ever.

I do try to politically destroy liberal republicans. And I always will.

I worked hard to help send Dewhurst back to his farm, and today, he is retired from politics. The favorite of the GOP-E and the guy endorsed by Perry got the message to get out of Texas Politics.

Romney, of course, lost again. He's got a track record of losing.

Anyone supporting Romney is a liberal.

Who cares about his NCAA picks?

Harry Reid's "exercise equipment" maintenance guys?

But yes, NCAA picks and $5 may get you a coffee at Starbucks.

Nope, I didn't stay home. I worked the phones and doors hard to fight the liberals, both republican and democrat.

That was an uphill battle, but the fight still had to be fought.
