It’s not indifference. It’s more like grim satisfaction.
Actually Pope Francis has mentioned the persecution and martyrdom of Christians in the Middle East and Africa before. The news media has never given his comments much attention [unless it is something they think will promote their progressive agenda]. They prefer to twist his words.
“I hope Conservatives don’t’, once again , throw the baby out with the bath water.”

A lot of conservatives are so stiff-necked that they will refuse to vote for anyone but THEIR candidate - and per-primaries, instead of spending their energy on promoting their candidate against the libTards - spend it tearing down all others. This gives the enemy lots of ammunition come general election.
Then in the general election, if our candidate isn’t the one THEY wanted, they continue to tear them down - or not vote because the candidate doesn’t agree with them on 110% of the issues. This includes a lot of FREEPERS.
Then, of course, there’s the religious component. How many Catholics and evangelicals stayed home last time rather than vote for a “MORMON”? Be honest. (Would that “MORMON” have saved us from a lot of the destruction of our freedoms, our country, than the traitor they let back in the white hut? Quite possible have stemmed the tide enough to give us a shot as saving our country?)
