Something in Tim Cooks screed caught my eye as highly unusual - and no, I dont mean what hes calling his stand. Rather, its this line:
...on behalf of Apple, Im standing up to oppose this new wave of legislation wherever it emerges.
On behalf of Apple?
Really, Tim?
Tim Cook is the CEO of a rather large multinational corporation, with assets pushing the three-quarter trillion dollar mark. CEOs generally, and oligarchical CEOs of corporate nation-states especially, do not shoot their mouths off on behalf of the company. Their lawyers, for one, start twitching at the very mention of that phrase. And especially, the Board will vote on anything coming near the CEO taking a position on anything remotely polarizing - especially something that has nothing whatsoever to do with the companys business.
Yet thats exactly what Tim has done - apparently completely on his own, but dragging Apple into it fully with him. Now ask yourself how what hes said might make someone feel who is an Apple employee who just so happens to belong to a religion that does not support gay marriage? How does what the CEO proclaimed effect that person - is he now bound by company policy to support gay marriage by working at Apple? After all, Tim spoke for Apple. So does that mean Christian Apple employees with religious beliefs that are against gay marriage are now formally supporting gay marriage through their workplace? And will be fired if they object to this CEO-declared company policy? Thats called a rather big, hairy lawsuit, I think. And it's not an extreme idea - the CEO of Mozilla was forced out over this exact same issue.
You know that besides Christians, Muslims also are against gay marriage, right Tim? I know you're not worried about offending Christians, because they tend to follow the Constitution so you can get away with mocking and abusing them. But Muslims aren't like that, Tim. Muslims hang and burn and stone gays under Sharia law, Tim. So you know that you've put all your Muslim employees on the spot now too, right? By working at Apple, they official go against the teachings of their religion, because Apple is now officially against those very teachings. You just said it yourself, Tim.
Right?
Or more generally, how about someone who believes that companies - including Apple, by the way - should be able to follow their religious principles in not selling products to people who are going to use them in a way which would violate the sellers faith.
Remember, these people do indeed exist, contrary to Tims opinion. They exist by the millions, in fact. And though hes singled out Indiana and Arkansas, 19 other States have similiar laws. And his precious Obama and Bill Clinton both signed similiar laws. So what is Tim doing here. since it seems so incredibly rock-stupid and deliberately inflammatory for all of Apple with zero authorization from the Board or the employees?
After all, he could have separated himself from Apple. He could have spoken in his personal capacity, and not used the veiled threat that Apples power will be used to destroy 21st century economies (i.e. States) that dont trash their religious beliefs for homosexual demands for unilateral business service. But he didnt do that, and as a result, he dumped gasoline on this political and social and religious and corporate fire - deliberately. Max burn, on purpose, with no resolution - only rage on both sides.
Why?
I think because hes wagging the dog for Hillary. Hillarys emails and Clinton foundation scandals are all over the place, with more info coming out each day. The Clintons have long been tight with Apple, even staying at Steve Jobs house a few times. And now, Hillary desperately needs two things - for people to stop looking at her espionage organization, treasonous kickbacks from foreign countries, secret email system and deliberate destruction of evidence, and to go back to wanting to vote for her.
I know, no one else would believe the former could shift to the latter. But this is Hillary. And Hillary has her rails and she runs on them, and her rails are Wag The Dog and Vote For Genitals. And besides just female genitals, shes also got her claws in homosexual genitals. And liberals overwhelmingly use Apple computers (and Hillarys people all use Apple products).
So Tim Cook gets an email... (LOL, I just cracked myself up...)
Anyway, Tim is told to do this, and so he does it. He doesnt ask permission - he may not even have written his essay. Stephanopolous and Sid Vicious probably stayed up Saturday night writing it as a response to the Senate wanting to investigate who, exactly, Huma Abedin is and why shes was on intimate terms with the Secretary of State while not having any security clearances and simultaneously working for an influence-peddling multinational corporation. You know, run-of-the-mill Hillary issues that go along with her being too addle-brained to handle two separate enail accounts.
And then Tim sings what hes told to sign, the Washington Post prints it, the country explodes with rage, Hillarys dog is wagged, the MSM is off running in a different direction, the Apple Board reads the morning paper and collectively gasps and Christian Apple employees call their lawyers (or they should).
In other words, its Hillarys standard MO: when on fire, make a bigger fire.
I wonder how shed carry out that philosopy from the Oval Office?
So, you’re saying Tim Cook is an islamaphobe?
Best to stay away from Apple stores in the future. They might be the soft target of choice for the more militant muslims out there...
I could be wrong, but Hillary hasn’t got a “dog”. Bill has one. Maybe Timmy wants to wag Slick Willie’s “dog”.
Maybe we should shout out, just as loudly, to boycott all Apple products if you’re a person of faith. Apple hates you. The CEO thinks you should be forced into a contract to work toward an event you’re morally opposed to. He thinks it is fine for the state to destroy your life if you won’t comply.
Got hate?
Too much thinking. The Sodomite Lobby has genuinely talked themselves into believing that this is the 1960s Civil Rights movement redux, and they want to stand up for what is right.
The problem is that they are standing up for what is wrong (a perversion). This is not a Civil Rights issue - it is a mental health issue and telling mentally ill people trapped in a sinful perversion that they are doing well. I.e., not helping them at all. Telling them to run faster into their disease, and eventually hell.
I wouldn’t trust Tim Cook with my dog.
Cook is like Obama he thinks he, not the stockholders, own the Apple.
As an Apple stockholder and owner of WAY too many Apple devices, I think it is time for Timmy to have a “come to Jesus” meeting, literally. If he cannot stop himself from vomiting his political opinion at every opportunity, then Apple needs to have a new CEO.
Just for clarity...I would have the same opinion if he were a staunch conservative and kept making pronouncements that would cause a large number of potential customers to think twice before buying an Apple product.
Just saying....
I think Cooks goose is cooked.
If she had one, he'd be the guy to wag it.
No meatspin jokes.
