Jeh Johnson declared Monday that “reading the Quran” reminds him of “quintessential American values.” The Muslim Brotherhood-aligned influence operation he addressed was pleased. The rest of us should be alarmed.
There are, of course, passages of the Koran that are peaceable and encourage tolerance. Presumably, those are the ones to which Mr. Johnson was referring.
Unfortunately, according to the authorities of Islam and their supremacist doctrine of shariah, such passages have been explicitly replaced by others that are virulently hateful and intolerant. They demand adherents engage in holy war, not practice true American values.
Mr. Johnson is not the first American official to exhibit such willful blindness. Truly peaceable Muslims are not the problem. But suggesting that shariah isn’t either is malfeasance, and will get more of us killed.

Until the so-called religion of peace does something, ANYTHING, to rein in their blood thirsty cult and join us here in the 21st century - they are the enemy of a peaceful world. The daily news reports of brutal violence, rape, torture, killing, etc. speaks for itself.

Particularly since it was the Muslims who enslaved the Subsaharan Africans, bought and sold them in the MR slave markets, and then started selling them directly to the Europeans and Americans.
Btw, at the start, many slaves were Europeans, captured by Muslims on the Mediterranean, and then offered for ransom...or sale in the slave markets. The Portuguese got into the field of slave trading because they had contacts with the Muslims from their Muslim occupation and served as intermediaries in ransoming Europeans. They would then charge 20% (a fifth, a “quinta”) of the ransom price.
This eventually became the standard commission on African slaves, but the Portuguese, the British and the Americans then started dealing directly with the Muslims and handing the resale on their own.
