The traveling I Have a Name exhibit that highlights the struggle of undocumented immigrants from Mexico and Central America is scheduled to be on display at the Landmark Center in St. Paul in April.
The exhibit is a collection of 30 life-size photos and a booklet detailing the perilous journey each immigrant undertook in search of a better life in the United States.
The exhibit aims to restore dignity to the estimated 11.7 million undocumented immigrants nationwide. I Have a Name seeks simply to give a few of those immigrants from Mexico and Central America a face, a name, their own story, writes Adler on the exhibits web page.
He continues: We believe that these few, brave enough to let us take their pictures and tell their stories, can stand for the hundreds of thousands
who have suffered what they have suffered, sacrificed what they have sacrificed, in search of the opportunity to free themselves and their families from the deadly grip of poverty, crime and corruption.

“I Have A Name” - Yeah; first name is “illegal,” last name is “trespasser.”
Yes, you have a name, and you also have a home nation where you are a lawful citizen.
They have a name and it is Legion, or is is Wetback. At all events, they are illegally here. It is cheaper to roound them up and deport them than give them all the benefits, money and position that we are giving.
Sure they have names. They have lots of names, but none of their names match the names on their birth certificates.
Malignant Freeloaders all
How about restoring dignity to the United States of America?
Too bad you cannot show me your name written on your non existent paperwork
I Have a Name

Yeah but it belongs to somebody else...
Its against our laws to use it...
Whenever I read that a report or story of a personal “journey” I know it is going to be some slobbering liberal’s tale of woe about another liberal or one of their victim groups.
How about a presentation and exhibit on the “Journey” of law-abiding, patriotic, working class taxpayers who started out with nothing, couldn’t afford college, learned a skill, worked themselves up from minimum wage jobs and often held two or more jobs to make ends meet?
These are part of the backbone of America, people who worked hard their entire life to support themselves and their families, wouldn’t think of taking government handouts, paid for everything they have with their own earnings, and didn’t buy anything they couldn’t pay for.
And now they have our Socialist government calling them names, ridiculing them, discriminating against them, extorting their earnings under threat of force and using the money to give free food, housing, medical care schooling, college, EITC tax rebates and Social Security to illegals and others who did nothing to earn it and who do not deserve it?
I have absolutely less that zero interest in the journeys of illegal aliens.
Signed, A Legal Alien.
I witnessed an amazing exchange this morning, while waiting at the local office of the TSA "Pre-Check Program for an interview applying for a "Trusted Traveler" I.D number and card, providing expedited check-in for international flights.
An obvious illegal was told that his two means of photo identification did not have identical names. The web site pre-application form was explicit in making it clear that ALL means of official photo identification MUST have identical names. The illegal had two last names on one and only one on his Driver's licence.
He argued, and was told what "identical" means, ...about 12 times.
The applicant, arguing that it shouldn't matter, (Claiming special privilege as an illegal,) lost.
Small pleasures... (schadenfreude)
Hey I’m interested. Pls give us your name for future reference, meaning when we once again have a president who respects the law. Thanks.
How did the TSA Precheck process go? Husband and I are thinking of doing the same.
Times have changed.
I used to get on a City bus to travel from Windsor to Detroit, and return. I could spend a care free day at Tiger Stadium or attend a Concert. That was many years ago. Zero hassle.
Now, I travel for work.
I thought about that Nexxus(?)program, but backed out when I learned they needed a Retina Scan.
For me, the Border Agent conversation is not a big time waster. The PITA are the TSA types who scan you, then look through your luggage.
Those folks have zero consideration for connecting flights or meetings that you must attend
Other than finding the place (Port of Stockton, CA military police, restricted entry, the whole nine yards), very smoothly. Fair warning, they do NOT have a sense of humor.
I may be able to get my KTN, "Known Traveler Number" on line, before the card arrives. I travel Mar 29. The receipt says "TSA will notify within 45 days," but some complete app numbers have been posted on line within 3 days.
I assume the earlier the better! Mine is a suddenly planned trip.
LOL.
We live in California (my home state) but between 1998 and 2000 I visited my (now) wife in Windsor, but flew in to Detroit, so I know whereof you speak. It was never really that bad in either direction.
But after 2001, I am not looking forward to that trip again. My wife used to travel often for work, and in fact was stuck in St. Luis Mo., on her way back from Mexico, for three days after Sept 11.
I have a name, too. It’s America Taxpaying Citizen.
They all have names and homes. Let’s send them back to their homes so they don’t have to use stolen names.
