Iraqi TV host cries on-air over Christians persecuted by ISIS (Aired July 2014--Vid at Link)

A TV host broke down on camera recently while discussing the persecution of Christians in Iraq.

Nahi Mahdi was speaking with two panelists on Asia TV when he was overcome with sadness over the travesties taking place in his country.

"(It is terrible) when people come and force you to leave your home," one panelist said in the July 20 airing, translated by MEMRI TV and reported by The Blaze. "This is what happened to the Christians today."

"Yes, the Christians," Mahdi interjects. "Today... I cried at home." The television hosts then began to weep, using his keffiyeh to wipe his eyes.

"This is one genuine Iraqi we have here," his guest stated, as Mahdi gathered himself.

"They are our own flesh and blood," Mahdi continued. "Some of them have left for Sweden or Germany... who does (ISIS) think it is to drive out our fellow countrymen?"

The Islamic State (IS), formerly known as the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS), has terrorised most of Iraq and Syria in the past several months an increasingly aggressive campaign to establish a militant, Islamic reign. Over 5,500 Iraqi civilians have been killed, over 11,600 wounded, and over 1.2 million driven from their homes since January.

"I want to take the people of Mosul and the government to task," Mahdi said. "They must take immediate measures to help these people."

The Nineveh Province capital was taken by the extremists in June, and frequent battles for control of the Mosul dam have ensued over recent weeks.

"Our country is like a rose," the host explained, "and its petals are the Christians, the Arabs, the Kurds, the Sabians, the Shabak people... these are all our countrymen. I don't know what to say about this."

"The Christians have done nothing wrong," Iraqi poet Abu Al-Hassanein Al-Rub'i added. "They haven't hurt a soul. On the contrary, they are a peaceful people, who love all sects.

"They are honorable people, with high moral values. They always maintain their sense of justice. We stand a hundred per cent in solidarity with them."

Not all Muslims are terrorists. Not all Muslims are Jihadis. There are billions of Muslims on earth. If all or even a significant number agreed with the Jihadists, ISIS woukd extend from Morrocco to the Phillipines.

Muslims have fought with us against these people. Muslims have acted alone against them -Al Sisi and the King of Jordan. The pilot who was burned alive - his mother dying of grief shortly after, and many of their victims have been Muslims. .What has Obama DONE?????

ISIS has achieved what it primarily has, through the active agency of ONE MAN - BARRACK HUSSEIN OBAMA and his satanic familiars.

Sounds like a good man.

Islam will have to correct it’s own radicals.

Islam can not correct it's own radicals because they are the ones following the Koran and this one good man speaking peace is not. I fear for his life because by his religion he is in the wrong.

Islam is the problem and until it is stopped and snuffed out there is no way to live with it.

I want you to know that I am not closed off to that viewpoint. I share your same concerns.

If you read the Old Testament, you will see places where punishments are prescribed for those who commit certain infractions. We have learned to let those go.

Similarly Islam needs to mature so that it’s people can do the same thing.

I believe in the Bible. I do think we should mellow on those old punishments. It is my hope that more of Islam will learn to do the same.

We both realize the accepted norm today, certainly doesn’t reflect that. In that, we share concern for Islam’s radical pathway. Here’s to hoping it will mellow.

Knowing the character of the anti-Christ, I doubt that is going to happen. If anything it will probably grow stronger.

That doesn’t mean that every Islamic adherent is going to buy into that completely.

I think there are a lot more Islamic adherents that cast off the vile form of Islam. We don’t see them anymore than we see the folks in our own nation that reject Obama and the Left for what they are in this climate.

I don’t reject your vision. I understand where you are coming from.

I am not mad but the point that is missing in this argument is that the "Bible" has the "New Testament" that covers the Old. While I do not see stoning in Israel today those punishments are not pillars of faith where killing is one of islams pillars.

Unless a new prophet come forward today that is greater than their Mohamed(which we all know will never happen and even if it did no one would believe) then islam can not change. Islam, in every version(suni, shia, etc.), has been evil for every year it has been a religion....its basic tenants are slavery and murder....you can not modernize or even soften what islam is because it is what it teaches, there is no way around that.

You either believe and follow what your religion teaches or you are not a real follower. If a religion is teaching evil and there is no way to change that teaching then it needs eliminating. Just logic.

As a woman, islam in every form is slavery. No way I want that from my granddaughter. It needs to be destroyed not hope it gets better when it has never in the past unless a strong man forces islam down.

I don’t see any reason to disagree with you. This is an instance where I would hope for the best, but in reality that may not be possible.

I appreciate your comments.

Islams treatment of women is very despicable to me.

In fact, it’s treatment of humans in general is.
