Ferguson home values are plummeting, and residents are feeling the pain

Peering outside the office window of his tire shop, John Zisser grumbles about the pile of burnt rubble that lies on the opposite corner of a busy intersection.

“If you come here to my shop and you see that,” he says, as gestures out the window, “is that going to give you a warm, fuzzy feeling like you want to come back here to do business?”

“Short answer: no, no it’s not,” he says.

Mission Accomplished SJWs. A re-run of Detroit after the riots in the 60s. I expect Ferguson to do just a well as Detroit after whitey was driven out.

“Stay the course.” -Barry Obama

And there is nothing stopping people from cleaning up the piles of burned rubble.

Agree. Civilization in general and republics in particular are fragile and far easier to destroy than maintain. The Left thoroughly understands.

I wonder if Ferguson will end up being unincorporated with St. Louis county assuming responsibilities of gov’t.

“If I sold this place today, I could probably get $300,000 for it, if anyone is crazy enough to buy. Last year, the county said this lot was worth almost a million,”

My recommendation is take your loss and sell now... I don't see things getting better any time soon.

And the truth is the cops were too lax in arresting black people.

>>And there is nothing stopping people from cleaning up the piles of burned rubble.

Its just like the sad people I saw on TV after “Superstorm” Sandy who were sitting in a pile of trash waiting for the gummint to come fix it. They didn’t want to touch the debris for fears that it would reduce the amount of their gummint handout from FEMA.

There was another guy who was “starving” but wouldn’t eat the FEMA MREs because he had burned his fingers on a heating tab and then decided that the meals were too dangerous to eat.

“Prior to Brown’s death, the average home sold in 2014 was selling for $66,764. For the last three and a half months of the year, the average home sold for $36,168, a 46 percent decrease.

The trend has continued on through this year, with the average home selling for only $22,951 so far in 2015.”

So sad for the honest, hard-working citizens. That’s the way it always is - the losers ruin it for everyone else. But this time, the Obama regime is instigating it.

A good question to ask is what value he is paying property taxes on? A million, or a quarter of that? Can he get a fair appraisal today? Because if he is forced to pay taxes as if he works in Paradise, that alone will make continued occupancy financially foolish.

This minority should not worry about property taxes, as the city will
probably over tax the remaining businesses to make up the difference.

All he has to do is wait a year or two, then he can sell it for $1.

Think the property taxes will go down? ha.

They want to oust all the cops and city government and get new ones. Taxes will have to triple to cover all the severance, pensions and salaries/benefits for the new crop of government.
