2. How many acres of green and how many trees would need to be planted to offset, 10%, 25%, 50% of the emissions?
I think the number of emissions listed was 39.2 billion tons per year. How much is actually offset by the ocean and the current greening of the earth? From there we can then determine how many trees to plant and how many acres of new greenery need to be planted.
Anyone care to give it a shot?
