Still waiting for evidence of global warming that isn’t fraudulent or outright lies.

Thats nice, but your fighting the fight on the Warmunista’s turf.
Here’s how I shut down discussions: I’m still waiting for evidence of Global Warming computer models that aren’t subject to GIGO.
Functionally, it’s the same argument as yours. But it decisively shifts the discussion away from science to the underlying methodology of Global Warming “science” to where it should be: computer modeling.
Which is my turf.

I took the mispaired title and article as a cautionary tale which frankly surprised me by it's publication in Salon.
I don't think most folks appreciate satire.
I was also intrigued by the juxtaposition of science and philosophy (and religion) which I have always found, like chinese food, to leave me hungry. I know I don't appreciate Sartre.
I think I belong to the Popeye school which teaches, "I am what I am" and by extension, "It is what it is". Of course, one must always seek out the meaning of, "is"
Thanks for playing.

"Im still waiting for evidence of Global Warming computer models" Like the economic theorists, their models have failed to predict or explain the many previous collapses of epic proportion. (see tagline)

The short version:
Here’s a list of elegant scientists from the beginning of time... people we all look up to...
Therefore
We should look up to modern day hacks who can’t even do math.
Here’s one for Salon - create a list of famous ethical members of the House and Senate over the last two hundred years... then use that as proof we should all revere Ted Cruz.

I read “Salon”, and decided not to wade through the massive bilge.

1. The climate models will not predict the weather we have today based on past data that is real.
2. We have had no warming in over 15 years, the climate models do not explain this.
3. There is rampant fraud relative to cherry picking selected temperatures to achieve a predetermined outcome. They know their climate models are garbage so they feed the model garbage. In the words of programmers back in the 60s, garbage in garbage out.

...and rigorous experimentation. This was a requirement that resonated with the natural philosophers of the time, who had already begun to practice what Bacon was preaching. The whole issue has never been "rigorous" as it's never been focused on accuracy.

I think you’re right. We can safely credit the writer with the first line. The rest was obviously cut and pasted from various random wikipedia entries.

...the title does not relate to the text and, if actually chosen by the author, is rather sophomoric. Its sophomoric no matter who chose it.

In one of his works Bacon had quoted from Proverbs, It is the glory of God to conceal a thing, but the honor of Kings to search out a matter. The microscope accordingly became the means of searching out what God has chosen to conceal from mans naked sight, a way of magnifying the Wisdome of the great Architect of Nature, in the words of Matthew Wren, a cousin of Christopher Wrens and a political writer and proponent of monarchy. As the microscope began to expose the surprising complexity of the smallest insects, natural philosophers and theologians alike mused that by studying these creatures we could come to understand God as never before. Sounds more like something Laura's fellow Occupyers would grapple with.

True. But is especially sophomoric if, as the article’s author does, you list yourself as a Fulbright program scholar.
