Republicans definitely have distinct good feelings about Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker as the wrangling continues between the GOP presidential hopefuls. Yes, Mr. Walker is making all the required campaign stops and grassroots visits in New Hampshire, Iowa and other key states - while his reputation and image win over many Republican hearts and minds.

“Scott Walker could be a formidable candidate for the Republicans in 2016, combining conservative credentials with a good national profile,” says Kathy Francovic, a YouGov polling analyst. The organization released these numbers on Tuesday.

79 percent of Republicans say Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is a “strong” leader.

74 percent say he cares about the problems of average people;

70 percent say Mr. Walker is “honest.”

68 percent say he is “intelligent”;

67 percent say Mr. Walker shares their values.........

That is because he is a strong leader. There are not many republicans who would have stuck to their agenda under intense pressure as Walker did. I wish Boner and McConnell would take notes and try to copy him.

When Walker moves into the house down the street from Capitol Hill, he’ll invite them over for tutoring.

Of all the Republican pack of wannabe POTUS candidates, there are damn few leaders. There are a lot of status quo RINOs that could not lead a man dying of thirst in the desert to a water hole. What Republican voters want is a leader who will fight the enemy. Unfortunately this leader is going to have to fight the Donkeys, the MSM, and the GOPee Establishment elite RINOs. Those are steep odds, but for the right man who can mobilize this untapped reservoir, these enemies can and will be defeated. So far, I've only seen Cruz and Walker with this ability, but there are others of principle, leadership abilities, and are fighters. What we do not need are more RINOs like Jeb Bush or Chris Christie or other RINO fools rammed down America's throat by the GOPee Establishment elites and its consultant class like Karl Rove.

I prefer Cruz but Walker has proved himself in battle and he is a winner against the odds. A Walker/Cruz ticket is probably our best bet against whatever commie the dems put up.

Well I suppose you could make that accusation about supporters of any of the other candidates also. All have their flaws, some are better than others. Walker and Cruz are better than the others, it is that simple.

They will be guiding their donors to ANY other opponent that Walker may have. He would ruin their status quo.

Walker has caved on the ethanol scam. That should put an end to his candidacy.

“I support biofuels and ethanol. ... I also don’t think Washington should be picking winners and losers,” Cruz said. ...

Walker said that he favored drawing down federal tax credits for wind power over time and opposed mandatory labeling of foods made from genetically modified crops. This is one of those where I believe it’s served its purpose,” Walker said of the credits. “I would support phasing that out over a period of time.”

...”Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker said he would continue the subsidies for now but phase them out once ethanol producers are assured access to markets. “I think eventually you can get to that,” he said. “But you can’t get to that unless you deal with market access.”...

“...Saturday’s forum also was an opportunity for likely contenders to display knowledge of rural issues and connect with Iowa’s farmers. Walker waxed nostalgic about growing up as the son of a Baptist preacher in the small Iowa town of Plainfield, where he said he learned that “farming isn’t just a business, it’s a way of life.”....

Walker on ethanol, March 7, 2015

“The free enterprise system must drive innovation to relieve our dependence on foreign oil, not mandates from the state or federal government.”

“However, it is clear to me that a big government mandate is not the way to support the farmers of this state...”

What is in there that should end his candidacy?

Walker/Cruz.

The pair of them would be far more conservative than any of the other viable candidates.

I’m not a fool who believes government is the solution to many of the problems in this world. As such, I don’t need a super hero or a messiah to be my president, I want a competent administrator whose head is on straight and whose commitment is to the Constitution. One that had some serious executive experience would be a big plus. Scott Walker fits the bill pretty closely.
