Because the Democrats would have the feckless President so tied up in multiple multi-agency multi-committee investigations, subpoenas, special prosecutors, television specials, Hollywood movies, secret sources, defecting agency heads, and indictments that the entire Executive Branch wouldn't know whether to s#|+ or go blind.
They wouldn't even have a nominee because no one would be suicidal enough to apply for the job.
