So a conviction for armed robbery resulted in 3 years of probation?
Astonishing. If the kid had been serving a good nickel (his richly-deserved time) he'd probably still be alive.
In other words, if there was justice in this country, the kid would probably still be alive...
“According to police, an officer responded Friday to a 911 call”
This is what I would do.
(((Ring))) (((Ring)))
“Police Dept.”
“We need da police cause ders dis guy...”
“Excuse me, what race is he?”
“He be black.”
“Sorry, deal with it the best you can.”
I notice that, too. There must be figures on this somewhere.
I’m sure the baby daddy is lurking somewhere in the background talking ebonics with Crump and Sharpton.
What’s relevant is that if he had been sentenced to 20 years in prison like he should have, he’d be alive today.... maybe.
The perp struck the cop in the head. If he had knocked the cop out and taken his gun, there is little doubt in my mind that he would have used it on the cop.
That is what the cop was thinking. That is what you would have thought. That is what I would have thought.
So Yeah, the fact that he was a violent thug is relevant. But that won’t stop the riots, because there are a lot of ignorant black people who think like you.
I quite agree. He knew the guy was a violent thug, though there are other potential explanations for his behavior, such as panic.
However, the cop did NOT know about the previous charges, my entire point.
Justifying the cop shooting him based on information the cop didn’t have is every bit as bad as convicting the cop for information he didn’t have.
As in, he was reaching for his wallet, not a gun. Or, that shiny object in his hand in the dark alley was a phone, not a gun. Fairly often the case, but simply not relevant.
Another perfectly wrong poster child for those protesting police/black or police/citizens relations problems.
Just heard this weekend, following a shooting of an off duty police officer that interrupted an armed robbery -
if the perps are black, it will never go to trial in X county - they’ll get a plea bargain,
because it’s become policy that a jury trial will
result in a nullification no matter what the crime is.
Whats relevant is what the cop knew at the time he pulled the trigger.
He knew he was defending himself against a violent thug!
What do I win?
The sure-to-follow lawsuit by the “parents” of the thug should be directed at the legal system which let him plea-bargain his way out of jail. He’d still be alive if he’d been punished appropriately.
