This week, Rep. Dan Schoen and Sen. Ron Latz introduced...well, we call it the Sign Away Your Rights & Rat Out Your Family Act. The Bloomberg bill, HF1361/SF1289, starts with the assumption that every gun owner is a ticking time bomb. The bill would encourage doctors to trick you into giving up your gun rights, and encourage your most anti-gun family member to petition a court to take away your Second Amendment rights. Grief isn't a crimeTricks and kicks gun owners when they're down.
Everyone has moments in life where things seem hopeless. A death in the family, a job loss, PTSD from military service, a divorce... Responsible gun owners know that a doctor or psychologist can help. But this bill would encourage doctors to trick you into signing away your rights!
Imagine: there you are. You're hurting. You go see a professional. He listens, then says he can help. He gives you a pile of forms to sign. Buried among them is a form created by this bill one that puts you on the NICS no-buy list. "Voluntarily."
How do you get back off the list? The bill says that the Department of Human Services will "establish a process" for removal. How many hoops will you have to jump through? The bill doesn't say.

They are going to be needing a lot of submarines for retrieval from lake and river bottoms.
While we have to remain vigilant to stand for our rights, I don’t see this passing this year. But, these people never seem to give up, do they. One of these years this kind of bill will make it through the gauntlet.
Holy crap!!! Why do I stay here!!!????
Oh right. Family. Friends. Starting to wonder if they’re worth it. ;)
Evil rears its ugly head with another anti-freedom bill.
They just never give up. I guess we have to resign ourselves to fighting this battle forever.
I left Minnestoopid over 3 years ago. Thanks to the inane battery of question at each doctor visit, and the control freakism, I no longer recognize any professional license issue by Minnesota.
I have never been in another state where people hide at the mere mention of the word gun. I have never been anywhere else that requires worship of Obama on the same level as whatever Kim in Norkland. Freepers in Minnesota, get out of there now and just let the place die.
Yes. You just realized the most important truth out there.
It’s why we keep losing so much. The other side NEVER QUITS.
It helps if you are never happy and not placable. But they never stop. Because the dialectic never stops. Which means they just keep pushing the line further and further left.
So we can NEVER stop. We cannot be complacent, and we must with every victory, think about how we move the line to the right more the next battle. Because there will be another battle. And one after that. And in perpetuity.
Our side needs to realize that we can keep fighting and still enjoy life.
We also need to realize that we don’t have to fight the same issue our entire lives either. Different stages of life may bring issues into our lives. We need to consider it for burnout/depression reasons. And also to train up people behind us so that we’ll have good people to rely on and to take over when needed.
I almost had a tragic boating accident with my weapons. My boat flipped over and all my guns went in the lake but not even one had one drop of water on them. Apparently they landed on a stack of guns that filled the lake from bottom to top!!!
I hate it when this happens :).
Folks, how’s that feminism and divorce/cohabitation regime working out?
Minnesota voted freaks into office, Minnesota gets what it deserves. Be nice if we had a common sense court in each state where every bill (of which there’s far to many anyway) is submitted and if it’s just a plain dumb ass bill, it’s rejected and whoever wrote or supported it is removed from the legislator for being idiots.
Laws are the problem in this country.. way to many, written by idiots trying to over compensate for someone issues.
Hopefully Loki won’t turn you in ;
lol
