Overflow Crowd Expected for Netanyahu Address, Despite Boycotts
Roll Call ^ | Posted at 5 a.m. March 2 | By Emma Dumain

Thanks to a partial boycott by Democrats, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu won’t be speaking to every member of Congress when he addresses Tuesday’s joint session.

But just because certain members won’t be on the House floor, doesn’t mean they won’t be paying attention to Netanyahu’s remarks.

It also won’t preclude those lawmakers from weighing in publicly afterwards.

Following Netanyahu’s address on Tuesday, Rep. John Yarmuth, a Kentucky Democrat who is part of the tiny Jewish population in his district and doesn’t plan to attend the speech, will headline a news conference to give fellow disgruntled Democrats an opportunity to share their thoughts.

The list of participants was still in flux on Feb. 27, but it could include a mix of members who skipped the event and those who were, albeit reluctantly, present.

The growing list of Democrats skipping the event sparked a mad rush last week to claim unwanted tickets for guests and constituents.

A source in the office of Speaker John A. Boehner told CQ Roll Call the demand for tickets to Netanyahu’s address has reached the highest volume for any joint address since the Ohio Republican took control of the chamber in 2010.

Boehner’s office has been inundated with 10 times the number of requests for tickets than there are seats in the viewing galleries that hover above the House floor. The demand is so high that both the House and Senate have set up overflow rooms on Capitol Hill, which will also require passes for entry, for people to watch the event.

“It also won’t preclude those lawmakers from weighing in publicly afterwards.”

So the “Democratic” response will be by someone who wasn’t there for the speech?

ISIS is not true Islam? By that standard, the bibi-cotters are not true Democrats.

"Thanks to a partial boycott by Democrats Demo-Nazis, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu won’t be speaking to every member of Congress when he addresses Tuesday’s joint session."

Corrected.

Obama must be hopping mad about all the attention Netanyahu is getting. The Narcissist-in-Chief is being overshadowed by a real leader.

It’s likely to be the definitive speech against terrorism, in THIS decade, and THEY choose to be absent?

What does that tell you about THEM?

Sort of reminds of those political videos or news articles that have the Thumbs Up or the Thumbs Down voting and that they are about 20 to 1 on the side of conservatives yet for some reason the 5% liberals (or thereabouts) always seem to be screaming the loudest and getting their way despite what the “productive citizens” think...The Netanyhu Naysayers ares thos 5%’ers...

Guess who is starting to get so SO jealous of all the attention Bibi’s getting that this person may re-invite himself and attend Netanyahu’s speech anyway. Obola surmises; “If you can’t beat em, join em.” This way, I will upstage Netanyahu at the biggest speech of his life. All I have to do is sit there, stay awake and pretend to listen.
Total result?, all the cameras will be ON ME, as it should be!!”

Like all leftward movements, the Democrats are now moving into total Jew-hatred. I dread the next few years. I dread when the “elite” teenagers come out of Harvard and Yale and get jobs in the government. I dread...

“What does that tell you about THEM?”

They hate America and Israel like their god Hussein does.

We, Americans, are hungry to hear a real-world, adult leader speak. We’ve been denied this for the past 6 years.

Netanyahu is coming to the US to speak, not only to the Congress, but to the American people. He is popular with Americans and they yearn for a leader like him. The reason Obama is upset with Netanyahu giving a speech has nothing to do with our relationship with Israel, as Susan Rice tried to BS us again. It has nothing to do with any protocol that requires the White House to invite him here instead of Boehner. Nor is it because of the "delicate" negotiations with Iran, where Kerry and Obama are about to give Iran permission to build their nuclear bomb.

Obama knows Netanyahu with come across to the American people as a strong, confident, forceful leader, while he is a weak, negative, apologetic, anti-American, all talk and no do fake. He knows Bibi will outshine him. Netanyahu is classy, respectful, professional and deferential to Obama. Obama is a petty, petulant, immature, whiney little kid in his behavior towards Bibi.

It has everything to do with Netanyahu being a leader and Obama being a loser.
