FCC head agrees to testify to Oversight on White House influence

Amid heated allegations that he has allowed his agency to be a puppet for the White House, the head of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has agreed to testify before the House Oversight Committee next month.

Tom Wheeler, who initially declined to appear before the panel this week, will testify on the morning of March 17, committee spokeswoman MJ Henshaw said.

Wheeler is also scheduled to testify along with his four fellow commissioners the following day in the Senate Commerce Committee. Unlike that session, however, which will focus on general oversight and the FCC’s new net neutrality rules, the House panel will focus specifically on whether or not the legally independent agency has had an inappropriate relationship with the White House.

He had a weak argument to begin with. Even under the auspices of Executive Privilege, his agency is not one of the Cabinet level agencies. Further, this bastard’s agency is supposed to be apolitical and nonpartisan.

Too little too late. All congress does is hold hearings, none of which actually accomplish anything. They are useless!

I've been saying that for years. We need a different way of dealing with government corruption.

“...whether or not the legally independent agency has had an inappropriate relationship with the White House.”

Nowadays, ANY relationship with the White House is inappropriate...and, should probably involve a course of antibiotics.

The EXEMPT will focus on one issue.

Can the EXEMPT invest and make money on the Tyranny?
by kickbacks? or selling EXEMPTIONs?
or by just violations of those silly SEC Laws
that apply to all others who are not EXEMPT?

I was just about to say the same thing. Hearing after hearing ,so they can all act outraged, and then nothing ever comes of it.
