Thanks. He was around a couple of years later than I thought.
He was always quick to slap down any misinformation on the aviation threads, but towards the end of his FR career he spent more time slapping down misinformation in the Catholic church related threads, which was not my area of interest.
He had zero tact, but he kept you honest.
Every weapon of America has been said that is does not work well. Gulf war one proved weapon used worked. I work with an F-111 pilot. He said they worked well and they said the same things about that plane.

About six weeks ago, I was sitting on the beach near NAS Pensacola when a F35 flew overhead. It definitely had a different engine signature.
