Joe Manchin backs McConnell's DHS plan (please allow us to pretend to be against Amnesty)

Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin says he’s prepared to vote with Republicans against President Barack Obama’s executive action on immigration, but first there needs to be a clean vote on a bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security beyond the end of the month.

Manchin said he backs Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s plan for a standalone bill that would separate DHS funding from the president’s action on immigration.

.

. “I’ve always said we should not fool with Homeland Security,” the West Virginia senator said in an interview with “Fox and Friends” on Tuesday morning. “We shouldn’t send a signal we can’t even get by securing our nation without having it attached to riders or conditions.”

“I said to my Republican friends: Give us a vote on a clean Homeland Security bill,” he continued. “I will support the actions basically on a bill that will prevent the president from his executive action. I would support and vote with them on that. But we need to have a clean vote on the Homeland Security bill.”

Manchin said the Senate passed a “very comprehensive” and “very bipartisan bill,” and that Obama had pledged “many times he would never do something as far as that on immigration, as far as what the executive order is,” before his announcement in November.

I listened to Manchin on FOX and Friends this morning. He’s a lying fraud, IMHO. I don’t trust the boy.

it’s impossible to have a “clean” vote that enables a “dirty” thing.

Looks like the Democrats won the last election but the MSM forgot to report it.

Don’t forget, Obama literally declared economic war on Joe Manchin’s state.

The clean vote is that that doesn’t include funding Obama’s executive Amnesty.

I think separating them is a smart move that pulls the rug out from under the democrats screeching about the GOP defunding DHS.

McConnell should just give the gavel to Reid or Schumer and be done with it already.

Thanks to the cowards who voted for the turtle, we have another cave to Obama. Every senator who voted for McConnell should be forced to retire, or those up for re-election should be primaried. Elections have consequences for Democrats, unless the Republicans win. Then it’s business as usual.

Bunch of liars. The whole point of tying DHS funding to killing amnesty was to force Pharaoh to back down through the power of the purse. Remember all the promises about fighting this fight now after the Republicans took the Senate?

All lies!

Looks like the Dems are pretty confident about how this is going to turn out that they will let him vote this way.
