Egypt’s president said Sunday that the need for a joint Arab military force is growing every day as the region faces the threat of Islamic militancy.

President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi said in an address to the nation aired by local TV that Egypt’s military has no interest in invading or attacking other nations, but will defend Egypt as well as the region “if required and in coordination with our Arab brothers.”

A soldier-turned-politician, the Egyptian leader said both Jordan and the United Arab Emirates have offered to dispatch military forces to aid Egypt following last week's beheading in Libya of 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians by Islamic State militants. …

The last time a “joint Arab force” was created by Egypt and other Arab nations, they had a different enemy in mind.

My fear is this force gets co-opted by the very Islamist extremists its instituted to fight.

Call me a cynic but it sounds like ISIs is cutting in to profits. I am all for blasting ISIS in to a fine powder but don’t see Arab nations caring all that much about their atrocities unless they are hurting revenues.

I smell a rat. who would fund this miracle arab force? And what would its mission be? No imagination required to answer. You just can’t trust islamists for anything; they don’t even trust each other. Arab brothers my azz.

With arms and training supplied by the USA, no doubt.

And then, when the “joint Arab force” has been fully armed and trained...it will join ISIS and the entire Mideast is gone.

Next stop, America.

obama gave 2 billion in aid to egypt when the muzzie brotherhood took power and then cancelled it when el sissi took over and booted out the terrorist muslim brotherhood...

look obama is one of them and supports isis and the muslim brotherhood.
benghazi was partially about sending arms to al queda under the guise of “freedom fighters”... but we already knew who the freedom were, in reality isis... so obama deposed mubarak and khadaffy and treid to replace both with al queda/muslim brotherhood..
since we are fighting a war against islamic terrorists (and this is the reason he does not wish to call a spade a spade) obama in effect is AIDING AND ABETTING THE ENEMY DURING WAR TIME... TREASON and AN IMPEACHABLE OFFENSE... he is our modern day BENEDICT ARNOLD... a mockery to the office and a national disgrace and world class clown...

He's right. Was a time the US could help organize and support the effort. Perhaps Putin will pick up the slack.

Could, my guess el Sissi will be thinking of a secular “caliphate” along the lines of the failed UAR. I could see Turkey toying with the idea of a religious caliphate. ISIS is laying the the groundwork, but the Turks could run over them. And it was their land for centuries.

I smell a rat as well.

At first glance it may seem that el-Sissi is trying to maintain order by pulling other Arab nations into the fight against ISIS.

I just went to his wiki page and two things jumped out at me, and surprised me.

1. His religion is listed as Sunni

2. His forehead displays a prominent bruise. The bruise is there to show other Islamists how devout he is, that he faithfully bangs his head on the floor 5 times a day.

Sadat’s murder was organized by the (Sunni) ‘Blind Sheik’ who organized the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993 and the murder of Rabbi Meir Kahane, among other random acts having nothing to do with Islam.
