According to the article, she’s done really important things like impose homosexual marriage and help the poor (with a 40% inflation rate)...

Nice legacy, that.

And to think, just over a century ago the economic situation in Argentina was great!
I’ve read that European emigrants often would toss a coin to see where to settle. The USA or Argentina.

But, that was before Peron came to power and began the slow swirl around the drain.

You’re so right.

I spent several weeks there three years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it, even though Kirchner was el presidente.

Yes, according to histories which I have read, immigrants to Argentina, in the 1900 era, did better than those in any other location, and no doubt thought they had made the correct choice.

Her supporters passionately proclaim their loyalty to Argentina’s first female leader

I would have thought the chances of Isabel Martínez de Perón making a successful comeback pretty low.

But I guess the Grauniad writers know stuff.

I wonder how much it coast the Mullahs in Iran to buy her off. Being South America, probably not much.

There was a difference. This is it.

Ignore this, and we become Argentina.

94 Jews were allowed to be killed by the Iranian Kirchner government. Then they tried to hide their complicity.

This is a very evil and unusual case where a government conspires with another government to murder their own citizens.

I would say that hangings too good for Evita II.
