Wandered onto China Lake from Ft Irwin during an exercise. Ran into a round about half the size of a 16-inch round from a battleship laying against a rock, half in the dirt.

Checked and rechecked our maps and hightailed it out of there!

Story is that a Navy Lt. was transferred to The Lake, and brought his sailboat.

And got surprised.

Enjoying the Lesley Gore music....I heard on the radio today.

NEW YORK (AP) — Singer-songwriter Lesley Gore, who topped the charts in 1963 at age 16 with her epic song of teenage angst, "It's My Party," and followed it up with the hits "Judy's Turn to Cry," and the feminist anthem "You Don't Own Me," died Monday. She was 68.

Gore, a nonsmoker, died of lung cancer at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan.
