Re: “I wouldn't like a Quran awaiting me in the room I was to move into.”

I wouldn't care.

Maybe universities should be teaching 18 year olds that life is rough-and-tumble, and that if you are offended or threatened by minor issues like a Quran or Bible in your room, you will have insufficient stamina and perspective to deal with more serious things.

Will the removal of the Bibles cause the Kentucky Wildcats to go on a losing streak and eventual downward spiral in the ratings? /s

Students at the University of Aberystwyth in the U.K. are seeking the removal of Gideon Bibles from their dorm rooms as the presence of the scriptures allegedly makes them feel "uncomfortable." ...

So, a couple of students are "uncomfortable" with a book that contains TRUTH.

Why are they so afraid of the truth? Maybe they, like Pilot, do not have a clue on what is truth.

This is a sad state of affairs, because people abandoning their Christian heritage and their faith are creating a vacuum that will soon be filled by something else, like Islam.

It is probably too late for the U.K. IMO. Welcome to Sharia Law students! I hope that you are prepared. Do not worry, under Sharia Law the job market for men may improve when women are removed from the workforce.

You're right on. I know.. I keep seeing these kids as a whiny complaining bunch of spineless wimps so "indoctrinated" into "political correctness" that life is gonna flatten their A$$ with some hard-learned lessons later on down the road.

put some dog hair and a strip of uncooked bacon in it and replace the koran.

I wish we’d fight this war instead just wait until we’re killed.

Dead islamofacists should be filled w/ pig blood and dogs should eat their guts. Then leave the bodies above ground to be devoured by vermin. No virgins for you - bitches.

The last two generations don’t have any idea Who the Lord God Almighty is and how He can change their lives in a positive way. We have a district in our area that had a Harry Potter Night last week to “pass the love of Harry Potter on to the next generation” that was organized by the high school with elementary students participating in “the fun”. It made huge headlines along with the accompanying story, as well as colored and black & white photos in the area paper. The district is getting to be not only clueless but Godless.

I repeat:

“He said, however, that HE BELIEVED BIBLES SHOULD STILL BE AVAILABLE FOR STUDENTS THAT WANT ONE”

To which I stated:

“Well. . .isn’t that Christian of him. . .”

Of should I have said “isn’t that tolerant of him?”

And Ike closed that message by writing, “And let us beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking.”

Do Muslims give Korans to non Muslims? I think that may be an insult to their Allah.

I have one that was given to me. Don't know if they give them out as a general rule.

I really don't understand people that get so uptight about having a book in a drawer in their room. It is just paper.

You are not obliged to read it.

You may discard it if you choose.

Many posters who I think are atheists I try and use the boogey man of other religions to get Christians to agree to Bab themselves from the public square. Personally I think christianity competes just fine. In addition, like you I would be grateful if I received or were given a Koran. I would like it for reference and would not fear its presence on me or my kids.

What absolute nonsense.

If the Bible makes you “uncomfortable,” you have no business at a Western university. And that has nothing to do with your religion.

Without a good working knowledge of the Bible, you can’t make heads or tails of any medieval literature, or Chaucer, or Shakespeare — or any other Renaissance, Restoration, or Romantic poet or playwright. And you can’t make sense of any novelists up until the middle of the 20th century.

And in art, past the Romans, you’ll have no idea what it is anyone sculpted or painted.

It’s like being “uncomfortable” with the alphabet.

Or maybe they’re just too stupid to be going to college.
