I would imagine they are slowing outbound stuff also.

The only thing that goes back is scrap metal, coal and retrograde shipping material. There are mountains of empty shipping containers on this side of the Pacific.

What, specifically, do you think is illegal about them?

Well, just hand out work permits to illegals, and provide empy shipping containers for homes.

Make sure that all guns are a taken from union thugs.

Except my company not only has a division in China, but we manufacture parts that require some pieces from China, so we can’t produce the stuff we do, without those parts, etc.

There's always air freight.

Get your worthless ass to work or you’re gone...strong backs and weak minds are a dime a dozen...there are enough illegal aliens in this city alone to make your strike a permanent lack of a paycheck to you...

Lumber goes back. As does timber.

In 2013 we sent almost a quarter of a trillion dollars worth of that stuff to China, Japan and South Korea? Wow!

The trade imbalance is three to one.

The problem with making our own junk is that no one wants to either:

- pay higher prices for products in order to pay the wages Americans want

- work for lower wages to be competitive on price

So how much do you think using off shored labor saves per dollar? It is not that much. We are talking pennies on the dollar.

Be careful with that argument. Profits are also measured in pennies on the dollar.

Well, just hand out work permits to illegals, and provide empy shipping containers for homes.
And then put all the filled containers back on the vessel and ship them to China

There...fixed it.

I did research looking for a failing company that was going out of business in the USA that was saved by moving off shore.. Couldn't find any. What I fond was a few furniture manufactures in NC that were making very little profit and off shored and started making a tiny bit more. The thing is quality is down.

The lion share of off shored manufacturing was from by already very profitable companies off shoring non union jobs to the third world for a few pennies on the dollar.

Judas Iscariot sold out Jesus for 25 pieces of silver.

There is no such thing as a real trade imbalance. The stuff imported is exchanged for money in an amount both parties are willing to accept.

The trade imbalance is three to one.

It's true, we export more than scrap metal and coal.
