I don’t think that one will fly. Most people DON’T have college degrees. I think this “racism” thing is what they are going to push. That and hates the working man, of course, because of the union stuff, but that didn’t play in Wisconsin so I’m not so sure they’d bet much traction with that either.

they don’t have to try hard to defeat them.
They are already second tier candidates.

Yes, and yet - there is more worship of the Ivy League and of so called “experts” - most of whom are in academia - than ever before.

I like those choices. You’re right - we need a woman or a non-white VP on the ticket. ;)

The best part is that either is well-qualified for the job. Those two also bring geographical balance, and neither is likely to upstage the top of the ticket, but have their own abiliities to contribute.

Having a “degree” (a piece of paper) does NOT mean you are the smartest nor brightest person in the world, It means you sat in class long enough and did what was needed to graduate. Personally, I doubt odumbo has any degree(s) and if he does, he is definitely not the smartest person in the world. Walker has so far proven he is highly capable as a Governor of Wisconsin, which is more :management” experience than that of odumbo. The media may push the idea that Walker is not formally “educated” but IMO, he has what it takes to be POTUS. (We would still hate to lose him as Governor here in Wisconsin).

that sort of pretentious crap would actually work in our favor with the electorate. more people don’t have a college degree than do, and you insult them when you criticize him.

There was once a republican president who quoted the gospels regarding a house divided against itself. Every single conservative who claims he or she will never vote for X because of Y even though X is light years better than the democrat Z contributes mightily to Z’s victory.

I like Walker for 2016. He’s not my perfect candidate but I’ve never been able to vote for a perfect candidate. Reagan signed tax increases and gun control bills as governor of California. The purists among us are guilty of the sin of pride. The republic is threatened and among us are people who will let the republic fail before they compromise at all. They think themselves better than others because they are willing to display the maturity of angry kindergartners.

Should the next President have a College Degree?”. Walker dropped out of college after 3 years to take a job and has talked about completing it while Governor.

Of course he should have a degree, look at the current President, he has a degree from Harvard and look how well he's done!

Seriously though, I did not know Walker doesn’t have a degree. Doesn’t make a bit of difference to me but I do wish he had one for those who think it’s required. And of course the media is going to hound that issue to death.

After the “John Doe” fiasco in WI, Gov. Walker can handle this. He is a very good strategist and picks his battles carefully.

Thank you for that. Well worth repeating.

Agreed....people love success stories of those without “formal education” - only an elite type who’s gonna vote liberal anyway would even consider this a problem. I think it’s a net positive for Walker. It’s not like anyone can accuse him of being dumb or unsuccessful.

Wow..I hate that...I hate it because YOU SAID IT FIRST...and not me. It's perfect. The sin of pride - BINGO - I always knew there was something that really irritated me on a gut level about the purists pharisees - many of whom are on FR. And it's pride indeed. YOU NAILED IT. (I still hate I didn't say it first.....:)

How do they mean to defeat Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum or Ben Carson, while we’re playing “fantasy football” with the 2016 elections?

I think they're concentrating on serious threats like Walker and Cruz. Huckabee, Carson, and Santorum have zero chance of getting the nomination.

Your last 2 sentences should be emblazoned at the top of the FR homepage.

Sometimes I think we give progressives too much credit. Walker has likely reached his high water mark, and unless he wins the Iowa caucuses in a landslide, it is difficult to see how he would take a campaign nationwide.

The best strategy against progressives is to run authentic conservatives who are not afraid to run as conservatives. As Rush has said countless times, when conservativism is on the ballot, conservatism wins.

Walker’s ties to the GOPe, and the GOPe’s hatred of anything authentically conservative, preclude Walker from putting conservatism on the ballot. That likely would leave the door open for charges of racial divisiveness, dog whistles, etc.

The best defense against progressive tactics is authentic conservatism.
