You’d never get away with it for me. They tried switching my name brand Synthroid to the generic. Cost difference $6-8 depending on strength. Generic is 30% lower in hormone, and fillers break my mouth out is sores in 3 days and my hair starts falling out.
I LOVE samples before I fill a Script, that will usually tell me if I can take it.
My reaction list is a full typed sheet long. Did you DR IDIOT ask if I was allergic to Sea Food, before you told me to take fish oil capsules? NO you didn’t. You have to be your own advocate.
The DOD MANDATES for Tricare Life are cumbersome and foolish. Shove $3K retail in meds in my mailbox every 90 days, UNSIGNED FOR. Restrict test, procedures, and nerve blocks. That is what total government control of your health care will mean. Medicare is as bad. They don’t cover needed durable medical items like hearing aids. Not even with a Co-Pay. 2 items most seniors need hearing aids and eye glasses, very costly, no coverage, not even Co-Pays.
Yep. I take care of my Dad’s long list of meds and refills all covered by Medicare...but not by much!
On top of that, the dumb@ss DROPPED his Golden Parachute Healthcare through the company he retired from when he married a few years back to go under her plan. Then they divorced a year later. *Rolleyes* They won’t let him back into that plan that would’ve covered EVERYTHING.
I am currently trying to spend down his IRA (the only asset he has; no car, no home; he rents) so I can get him signed up with Medicaid as well, which will help us cover more of the costs. Our out of pocket is easily $500 a month...on a $1,700.00/month income for him.
Grrrr!
I should have bought stock in Walgreen’s years ago!
