WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—In a historic Oval Office ceremony on Thursday morning, President Barack Obama signed an executive order closing Congress, effective immediately.
The President said that the move would dramatically increase the efficiency of the federal government, noting how much he had accomplished since he stopped working with Congress in November.
Additionally, he said, the elimination of Congress would result in annual savings of more than five billion dollars, which Obama said would be refunded to American taxpayers.
Acknowledging that “some sticklers” would argue that the Constitution calls for three branches of government, the President said, “All this order does is reduce that number by one.”
The initial public reaction to the President’s decision appeared to be overwhelmingly positive, as news of the executive order sent his approval rating soaring to seventy-nine percent.
Asked by reporters if he had any message for members of Congress, the President said, “I got it from here.”

The real and unreported part of this story is that Agent Orange & The Turtle blustered that they worked ‘closely’ w/ Barry to achieve this history closure. Ya know, it wouldn’t surprise me in the least either.

He needn’t get rid of Congress. Using that clairvoyance unique to the Left, he again can divine the will of the Two-Thirds-That-Don’t-Vote, and appoint members of Congress on that basis. Democracy at work.

That is why I snickered, reading the article.
He won’t shut down Congress any more than Chavez did. If Congress were doing its Constitutional Duty he would not be in a position for people to even be worried about that. As it is Congress is not getting in his way and is providing cover. It is a Roman Senate of the Empire phase.
Find a vid of Gabriel Over the White House. A Hollywood flick with Walter Houston and Franchot Tone where the POTUS, Houston, does exactly this. This flick was very favorably received by both FDR and Eleanor. In fact FDR saw some of the rushes and read the screenplay and wrote back suggestions which were implemented in the final release. This was done by him during the Interregnum from Nov ‘32 to March ‘33.

But you know, thinking about it, I know, scary...
Getting rid of Congress, the House and Senate, might be a good thing...
We just say, those that want back in when we take care of the dear leader, they cannot get back into the clubhouse...
We put an ALL rookie class...Mostly some of us FReepers, and we’d get things done correctly, and properly within the confines of that pesky Constitution...There are a ton of very qualified people who participate on this website who know the job...
