Israel is the only liberal democracy in the Middle East and North Africa. Eight million Israelis are surrounded by some 400 million Muslims in more than 20 states. Almost all of Israel's neighbors are anti-Israeli dictatorships, monarchies or theocracies-- a number of them reduced to a state of terrorist chaos.
Given the rise of radical Islam, the huge petrodollar wealth of the Middle East and lopsided demography, how has Israel so far survived?
The Jewish state has always depended on three unspoken assumptions for its tenuous existence.
First, a democratic, nuclear Israel can deter larger enemies. In the Cold War, Soviet-backed Arab enemies understood that Israel's nuclear arsenal prevented them from destroying Tel Aviv.

The Jews have survived the Egyptians, that Babylonians, the Assyrians, the Romans, the Muslims, and the Nazis. They were scattered across the globe for close to two thousand years, only to reappear as if by magic, to the same plot of ground.
Many a would-be ruler have long since turned to dust yet Israel still goes about its business. Yes, it will survive.

Israel has a biblical promise that she will survive.
Our survival is the one in doubt. A major party rejected God three times on national TV, and we elected them anyway. Muslim Brotherhood now occupies the White House, and after repeatedly looking for ways to humiliate the Israeli Prime Minister the White House has now intervened in Israeli elections to see him removed from office. (Clinton did the same thing, successfully, but Netanyahu fought his way back...)
We recruited Muslim Brotherhood into every agency of the government. We are now bringing muslims here by the tens of thousands while rejecting middle east Christians who are the actual victims of our own policies, being slaughtered and driven from every town in Iraq and Syria.
We’re the ones who have now approved Sharia courts in Texas of all places. If Texans have fallen to the point that they will abide this, alongside all the other evidences of a degraded republic, then there is a dark day coming.
