Gov. Bobby Jindal: U.S. Needs a Spiritual Revival Jan 25, 2015 By LAURA WAGNER

Like a lot of Republicans with national name recognition, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is "seriously looking" at a 2016 White House bid, but he says the country needs more that just for the right candidate to win.

"We can't just elect a candidate and fix what ails our country," he said at a prayer rally that he attended Saturday instead of the Iowa Freedom Summit. "We can't just pass a law and fix what ails our country. We need a spiritual revival to fix what ails our country."

The Louisiana Republican, who told ABC's George Stephanopoulos he's "seriously looking at" a 2016 White House bid, said the relationship between leadership and prayer "is as old as our country."

"You know, it is a time-honored tradition, going back to our nation's founding, for our presidents, for our leaders to turn to God for guidance, for wisdom," he said on ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos."

Because our problems aren't fundamentally political in nature. They're spiritual. We, as a nation, have forgotten God. The problem is not the unpatriotic socialist abortionist idiots in Congress and the White House ... the problem is the people who vote for them. We, as a nation, are badly in need of repentance.

Yes, Bobby. That’s why we’re voting for Ted Cruz.

Yeah, I’m for Ted Cruz too ... but he’s not my Lord and Savior.

Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. Yours, too.

Absolutely right.
All the political problems are just symptoms.

And if Ted Cruz says the same thing as Bobby Jindal, what then?

Ted Cruz fights the GOPe and Bobby Jindal is part of the GOPe IMHO......

That’s where I see the difference.

On Saturday in Iowa Ted did use the reference of “knowing them by their fruits” in regards to people who will claim the mantle of conservatism in their quest for the presidency in the months ahead.

One thing I remember regarding Jindal was his short lived effort to give members of his state legislature double digit percentage pay increases.

It happened some eight or nine years ago early in his reign as governor of LA.

I was shocked when I heard that because it had been tried here in Pennsylvania where I lived and the revolt in both parties against it was overwhelming with many politicians (a dozen or more) defeated in both parties primaries and other incumbents going down in the general election of 2006.

Nextrush, bluestaterightist

I was referring to this part of the article:

“... The Louisiana Republican, who told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos he’s “seriously looking at” a 2016 White House bid, said the relationship between leadership and prayer “is as old as our country.”

“You know, it is a time-honored tradition, going back to our nation’s founding, for our presidents, for our leaders to turn to God for guidance, for wisdom,” he said on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.”...”

Bluestaterightist,

Were you referring to this part when you said you were voting for Cruz?

This above part is what I was referring to when I asked you ‘what if Cruz says the same thing?’

And if Cruz says the same thing as what bobby did in the above quote, then I indeed will vote for him and tell everyone I know that they should also...

Clarifying: I indeed will vote for Cruz and tell everyone I know that they should also.

Bobby Jindal is correct. Others have pointed out this problem before, and not just preachers...

The problem basically is theological and involves a spiritual recrudescence and improvement of human character... It must be of the spirit if we are to save the flesh. Gen. Douglas MacArthur, Batttleship Missouri, 2 September, 1945
