Myanmar Woman Screams Innocence Before Saudi Beheading video

A Myanmar woman beheaded in a Saudi street this week for killing her husband's young daughter is seen screaming her innocence in a video posted on the Internet Saturday.

Saudi authorities have arrested someone for filming the incident, said local newspaper websites, including Okaz and Al-Riyadh, in reports accompanied by still shots from the recording.

They did not say what the arrest was for.

The official Saudi Press Agency said Monday that Layla bint Abdul Mutaleb Bassim was executed in the Muslim holy city of Mecca for killing her husband's six-year-old daughter.

Maybe some of the freeway shut down experts should venture over there and do a little protesting. We could ask for volunteers to raise the money to send them. They’d only need a one way ticket. :>} “No justice, no head!”

I am no fan of the islamics, or the Saudis. But if a 'fair' trial found her guilty of murder - then death is the penalty. Finding honest muslims, particularly when a woman is charged, is another issue - but murder requires capital punishment.

Her bigger problem was that she was apparently yelling 'there is no god but allah' before her beheading. Going off to eternity without the Saviour is the wrong way to leave.

I wonder how much time elapsed between the trial and the execution. I suspect they don’t have death row convicts dying of old age, like we do.

Saudi beheading isn’t especially cruel; the head comes right off, and that’s that. But one wonders, given the vagaries of Saudi “justice” whether the condemned actually deserved it. That’s the real problem, so far as I can see.

It is doubtful that she got a fair trial, we never know all the details, heck the kid could have been killed by the father or had a medical condition that caused her to expire and the father blamed the mother.

A woman’s testimony is saudi sharia court is literally worth less than the testimony from a goat.

The trial will be held next month in mid February.
Any jurors finding her not guilty will be executed. /s- tom

I saw the video. It took three whacks to finish her. And as others have noted, the Saudis laws of evidence do not give me a warm fuzzy feeling that she was really "guilty beyond a reasonable doubt"

Not that she lost her head, but that she lost it to islamic so-called justice.

Islamic guilt can usually be established on the husband’s say so.

Usually the give a sedative before ... in this case they didn’t and it took three strokes to behead her. The justices in this case said it was unusually cruel the way she killed the child.
