Miami, Jan 14 (EFE).- Just one month before the end of the sign-up period in the health insurance market for 2015, U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell on Wednesday urged Latinos to register and thus reduce the health "disparity" that historically has faced the group.
"As one of the fast growing communities in the nation, Latinos' health is vital to the overall well-being of our country," said Burwell, who - along with Hispanic leaders - on Wednesday launched "Latino Action Week" to encourage members of that minority to sign up for health insurance on Obamacare's exchanges before the Feb. 15 deadline.
At a press conference, Burwell said that some 2.6 million Latinos have obtained health insurance since October 2013, and she reminded Hispanics that financial aid is available for those who cannot pay for the coverage.
She also said that 85 percent of the 7.1 million people who have enrolled during the first period received federal subsidies, adding that eight of every 10 people can get health insurance for $100 per month or less thanks to the available aid.

One major factor in “health disparity” that the media will never mention is IQ disparity. The stupider you are, the more likely you are to do unhealthy things.
Another factor they won’t mention is that a population that reproduces at a young age will have a shorter average lifespan. A population that reproduces at a later age will have a much longer average lifespan. There are multiple reasons for this, but a significant one is the simple fact that those who are genetically disposed to die during early adulthood will not pass that propensity to offspring they don’t have.
