LITTLE ROCK Republican Asa Hutchinson has been sworn in as Arkansas 46th governor.
The ex-congressman and former federal Homeland Security official took the oath of office at the state Capitol Tuesday, succeeding Democrat Mike Beebe.
Hutchinson took office a day after lawmakers convened for the start of the 2015 session.
Hutchinson has said he wants lawmakers to move quickly on his campaign promise to cut taxes for the middle class by $100 million a year.
Hes also expected to announce later this month whether hell supporting continuing the states compromise Medicaid expansion.
Beebe, who was first elected in 2006 and re-elected four years later, was barred by term limits from seeking re-election.
I’m hoping for the best but I dont expect much out of GOPe big government tzar
We donated to Hutchinson’s campaign and no regrets, just thankful we have a good man as governor and wish him the best.
And with that, the GOP finally has control of the Arkansas state government.
One of the House Impeachment Managers now lives in the Arkansas Governor’s mansion where Clinton once resided...
In October 2010, Democrats held 12 of the 13 statewide or congressional offices in Arkansas (the GOP only held the 3rd congressional district seat). Today, less than five years later, Republicans hold *all 13 statewide or congressional offices in Arkansas*.
For that, I honestly can say, without even an iota of irony, “Thanks, Obama!”

I give credit to Mike Beebe. He did more to help the GOP to majority status by accident than Huckster did on purpose (Huckster, of course, made it possible for the Dems to claim all but the one office when he left the Governorship 8 years ago).
exactly what is your point. I was Curtis coleman fan and voted for frank gilbert. I do wish Asa luck
Why don't these people just retire...for good.

Perhaps there is a correlation between people who use the term "GOPe" in their posts and those who registered an account on FR in the past week.
