Bill Gates and friends have developed a simple system to convert human feces into electricity, fresh water and pathogen-free ash – and no stink!
In a quest to find a way to end the tragic death of more than 700,000 children annually from drinking bad water, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has sponsored a variety of waste treatment programs in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.
Janicki Bioenergy develops and manufactures a variety of sizes of this system. It uses the combustible biomass (roughly 20% of the feces) to heat mass quantities to ~2000 degrees Fahrenheit. The super-heated steam from the water content (80% of the waste material) then drives a generator to create electricity to power the unit with enough left-over to share in the community. . .

I should hope so.
The machine is currently in the process of being shipped to Senegal. If it’s successful, we may see more of these.
I saw the video story on a local TV station (it’s a Washington state invention). The guy who helped invent it says that there are “rusting hulks” of machines that claimed to be able to do the same thing but failed to live up to their promise. I hope they succeed.
Certainly we can beat the name Omni?
And just what will they do with the waste that our bodies have already digested?
Human sh*t converted into fresh clean water.
It could end up saving millions of lives in countries where modern plumbing and sanitation systems are non-existent.
We in the West enjoy the luxury of drinking treated waste water from our faucets.
Many people don’t.

I think “Omni-Processor” is just fine.
In some parts of the world, euphemistically named “night soil” is used as fertilizer.
But the filter cartridges cost you a million dollars, this is how they get you...
According to the inventor, the burned remains are just simple, non-toxic ash that can go back into the environment.
The children that escape the Bill and Melinda Gate third world abortion juggernaut will sincerely be thankful for the clean drinking water.
Got to hand it to Gates. He is truly trying to accomplish momentous things.
Didn’t Gulf Oil come up with some sort of gadget to do this in the late 60’s/early 70’s? I vaguely recall an ad they would run during The Wonderful World of Disney where they demonstrated this.

I’m not against progress. That’s good if it works and isn’t a pain in the a$$ like some other econut stuff.
