WHITE SPRINGS, Fla.

At first blush, I think older brother had been abusing the shooter from the time she was the age of the younger (11) sibling. It was nearing younger sisters time and something snapped in the dynamic.
Sisters will most times do what needs doin’!
You’re probably right.
Sounds plausible. It’d be best to wait for more facts to emerge, though.
Yeah...a teenage girl raised in today's society would have no reason or desire to lie about something like that. But, we'll see.
Nothing good happens in Florida.
Or the sister could be a sociopath who shot her brother in cold blood because she could.
Yes. I thought of the two seemingly likely (to me) choices - psychopath(s) or molested girl(s). I hope the police figure out what was going on and justice prevails.
That’s what we say about Texas...
>>The parents were charged with child neglect and are accused of failing to supervise in the treatment of children, Smith said. He said the father is a truck driver and the mother had left with him on a trip. The home did not have a recent history of visits from the sheriff’s office, Smith said.<<
Parents charged with child neglect? Under normal circumstances, leaving a 16, 15, 11, and 3 year old home to look after one another seems kind of normal to me. My brothers and I are 4 years apart, and often our parents would leave us home by ourselves for a few hours, even overnight occasionally.
Unless there’s more history behind this, that seems a little heavy-handed, especially since the gun was in a locked room.
Only because it’s true ;)
This makes the 15 year old sound like a monster
Earl had to die.
Agreed. 16 year olds often babysit to make some extra $$$$$. Very heavy-handed.
Unless there is more to the story (e.g., molestation)...
CPS wouldn’t tell of past incidents with the family means they have a file. The girls said he beat the older one and locked her in a room. Smells very much like he was molesting her and starting in on the younger one.
That might be true. But do not forget, 15 year old girls lie. 15 year old girls who commit homicide have a great motive to lie. I will reserve judgment until facts are entered into evidence.
Another story I read on this said the girl’s uncle had molested her in past years (can’t recall if he was convicted, or if it was a CPS file or what).
My older brother was a monster. He made my life a misery for most of my childhood. Still have PTSD from that.
Because of my experience, I tend to have sympathy for the person who finally snaps and fights back. Living in hell can make you crazy.
