Sharyl Attkisson mentions this in her book “Stonewalled.” It takes time away from covering anything critical of B. Obama.

Or, as a media lawyer once told me, you can't get sued for talking about the weather...

Icarus

Son of Daedalus who dared to fly too near the sun on wings of feathers and wax. Daedalus had been imprisoned by King Minos of Crete within the walls of his own invention, the Labyrinth. But the great craftsman’s genius would not suffer captivity. He made two pairs of wings by adhering feathers to a wooden frame with wax. Giving one pair to his son, he cautioned him that flying too near the sun would cause the wax to melt. But Icarus became ecstatic with the ability to fly and forgot his father’s warning. The feathers came loose and Icarus plunged to his death in the sea.

Why?

Because it draws our attention away from the REAL killer in our country: CHOICE

It will snuff out 3,300 more or less tomorrow.

And the next day, and the next, and the next.

A 911 EVERY day of the year!!!!

And we get upset when 24 are killed in a school...

I think the reason for this is that flying still scares us.

Because...

...we have NO control.

We could strike back at a mugger,

jump out a window of a building fire,

poke JAWS in the nose, but...

Just try flapping your arms!

the odds are in my favor I won't be in another one. :-)

The odds WERE that way BEFORE the first one; now they are same as before.

Flip a perfect coin 100 times. It lands tails each time.

What are the ODDS that it’ll land that way on the next throw?

It's sort of like the odds of hitting the jackpot on a slot machine. Just because you hit the jackpot on a given spin, doesn't mean you won't hit it again on a subsequent spin.

Of course, odds are, you'll never hit the jackpot anyway.

(back when they weren't just a political rag).

AMEN!I had DECADES of the old magazines on a shelf. When that Rennie came in, it all went to hell.

I closed out with them within the year.
