(Illegal) Immigrants get warning on driver's licenses

LOS ANGELES (AP) — While tens of thousands of immigrants living in the United States illegally are preparing to apply for a long-sought driver's license in California starting Jan. 2, others are being urged to think twice.

Immigrant advocates say the vast majority should be able to get licenses without trouble, but they want anyone who previously obtained a driver's license under a false name or someone else's Social Security number to speak first with a lawyer, fearing a new application could trigger a fraud investigation.

The same applies to immigrants with a prior deportation order or criminal record because federal immigration officials and law enforcement can access Department of Motor Vehicles data during an investigation.

Actually, I’m all for these warnings. I want every one of them scared sh!tless to apply for an Amnesty Drivers license. I want every opportunity to dissuade them from getting a drivers license and the potential for getting registered to vote at the same time. They have no rights AFIAK..

I think the number who actually get IDs will fall far short of expectations. Why would illegals want to become legal and pay taxes and abide by ANY law?

Does anyone else see or is it just me that this news reveals an aiding and abetting of criminals?

A criminal has a right to talk to an attorney. But do ‘Immigrant Advocates’ have a right to tell criminals at large how they could be arrested and detained, basically protecting them?

Do non-lawyers have any right to aid, warn, abet, harbor criminals?

EBT, SSI, WIC, Housing, and a plethora of other social benefits.

And there are Community Organizers now known as ‘Community Service Officers’ who coach illegals with the ultimate goal of getting them registered to vote.

No one’s convicting these animals for entering our country illegally nor deporting them...
Does anyone seriously think they will be investigated for fraud???

That would be pretty much all of them.

Must protect those who defy our laws and prey on our citizens via id theft.

No insurance, no appearance in court/payment of tickets.

What a wonderful world.

Not to mention that getting an official drivers’ license will get them into all sorts of interesting databases which can get them deported when Republicans hold the Presidency.

Tens of thousands?

In Los Angeles?

Try millions and millions.

Ask Jerry Geezer why he can make an immigration law giving illegals a license while the populace of California supposedly has no right to make a law against that: Proposition 187.

WARNING: This drivers license will make it easier to locate and deport you after January 20, 2017.

This is insanity. How about when they walk in the door we deport them?

Not for these people. They will get winked at. Two separate sets of laws exist, and only the ones that are enforced apply to actual citizens.

Are the illegals required to take a test, or does the government just pass them out with the welfare checks?

Don’t they have to also supply documents proving how long they have been resident in this country? Wouldn’t these documents provide vital information to the government about their real names, where they really live, and who they have been working for? That information (once verified) would make them easy to find, identify, prosecute, and deport in the future. The employer information could be used by the IRS for their failure to pay taxes on past wages and identify cases of fraudulent welfare claims based on incomes. If they provide fraudulent information on their drivers license application could they be charged with attempted identity fraud and deported immediately?

A drivers license with a photo and work status would help them how? They would be fined for no insurance, liable for accidents, and sueable in civil courts because they are identifiable. And they would still be unable to vote as citizens because of their legal alien work status. The more information they provide the more they are screwing themselves. Sounds too good to be true.

Maybe they are that dumb. Or maybe we are dumber to think the government is going to allow this to happen the way we think. We must watch very closely knowing the government is always ready to help us.

HAHAHAHAHAH

fearing a new application could trigger a fraud investigation.

YEAH RIGHT!!! The illegal immigrant is the most protected class of person in this nation under King Putt. The lawyers will be provided for free and what's one more act of amnesty anyway?

Do you see something wrong with scenerio? Two identities = two votes at the polls.

Exactly, all they are worried about is being deported which is no longer a worry so why become visible then for all the other bullsh**?
