New Poll Finds Mike Lee In Strong Position Heading Into 2016
Senate Conservatives Fund ^ | December 15, 2014

Today the Club for Growth PAC, Senate Conservatives Fund, and Madison Project released the results of a poll done by Basswood Research in the Utah Senate race of likely Republican Primary voters. The poll finds incumbent Senator Mike Lee in an extremely strong position for re-nomination. Senator Lee is endorsed for re-election by the Club for Growth PAC, Senate Conservatives Fund, and the Madison Project.

Among the poll highlights:

Senator Lee has a +65 favorable rating, with 76% of Utah Republicans having a favorable opinion of Lee and only 11% having an unfavorable opinion. By contrast, Senator Orrin Hatch, while also popular, has a 72% favorable rating and 23% unfavorable rating, a net of +49. Given that Hatch won his 2012 Republican primary 66%-34%, Lee’s even stronger favorability rating indicates that Lee is likely in a very strong position among Republican voters.

Senator Lee is broadly popular with all segments of Republican Primary voters.

Mia Love, Chaffetz and Stewart are all more likely to lose in 2016 (Mia Love in the general) than Mike Lee because of squishiness or full support of amnesty.

You know who really should donate to Mike Lee. Senator Shelby (AL) who just copies everything Jeff Sessions does for the last 2 years of his senate term.

It suits me just fine if Richard Shelby copies everything Sessions does.

I am very happy to have both as my senators.

I like Mike!

Naturally I would prefer Ted Cruz. But in the give and take of politics; Ted might be too polarizing for the majority of Republicans to accept.

And Sen. Lee might just be the dark horse that wins the consensus of all Repubs.

And as far as things stand now - I can live with that.

Me too. As long as he doesn’t run as a Republican. There is a stench in the party that will be all over him unfortunately.

I LIKE MIKE LEE and ""where he's comin' from"

He wants to OPERATE and RUN things based on the CONSTITUTION... which is what Obozo has moved us away from.

I am very happy to have both as my senators.

TWO real patriots and EVERYTHING they say or speak is steep in COMMON SENSE.

BOTH Sessions and Shelby are to American Politics what George Jones was to Country Music. BOTH are "one of a kinds"

Mia Love might lose.

But I think Chaffetz and especially Stewart are more likely to be primaried than Lee.
