72 Million More Reasons To Doubt The Mainstream Press
Investor's Business Daily ^ | 12/16/2014 | IBD Staff

Media Malfeasance: In less than two weeks, bombshell stories of a vicious gang rape and a millionaire teen investor were exposed as frauds that never would have made it into print but for gross negligence and liberal bias.

Over the weekend, Jessica Pressler, a "star reporter" at New York magazine, told the story of an underage teen who'd already made $72 million trading stocks on his lunch break. It was part of a series on why people should love the city.

The story spread like wildfire, showing up in the New York Post, Marketwatch, the New York Daily News, Fox News and others.

And why not? New York magazine occupies one of the top rungs on the media elite ladder. Surely it would never publish a piece that hadn't been thoroughly fact-checked and edited.

That’s just amazing, a miracle rich teen and other fraud stories, and you wonder what other stories published by the press are either frauds/heresay, or flat-out lies from the press themselves.

I stumble across the story the other days when I read a story on the New York Post. It said they guy made the $72 million by trading his lunch money... I knew it was a BS story because only Hillary Clinton has the ability to make these kinds of profits!

All of the American MSM is by now, at the level of ‘People’ magazine mentality.

The readership has NO concept of authenticity and no expectation of anything whatsoever beyond the mindless sameness of low IQ ‘entertainment’.

I think it is almost all of them.

Every time I've had personal knowledge of the subject of an article by a "mainstream" journalist, I've found it has multiple errors, distortions, omissions, or just plain editorializing (opinions of the writer are "attributed" to someone else).

Actual news reporters are a dead breed. Instead, the business is mostly populated by people that want to be Woodward or Bernstein, and are willing to lie to do it. And, their bosses are encouraging it, in order to buy eyeballs. They don't care if it's accurate -- they just want you to read or watch or click, so they can sell your presence to advertisers.

The entire business is no different than the Weekly World News: fabricate outrage so you'll buy their rag.

Yeah, everybody knows that the only way to make that kind of money is to trade cattle futures while knowing abolutely nothing concerning the subject of cattle futures. If you actually know what a cattle future is you don’t stand a chance.

Your average journalism school grad knows... well, not much. They majored in journalism and likely have little grounding in the real world. Can they do math, can they fix a leaking toilet, fix a flat on a bike, or even hang a picture? You’re lucky if they can put together a coherent sentence. Today, the only qualification a modern “journalist” has is to be snarky and sensationalistic. They’re nothing more than ignorant gossips.

Interestingly, there are a ton of TRUE stories that go unreported these days. Unfortunately, they're 'inconvenient', in that they don't advance the liberal, progressive, socialist agenda that is favored by the vast majority of media pushers these days.

The truth is out there. Unfortunately, it's being buried at breakneck speed, lest it show its ugly little head.

"If you actually know what a cattle future is you don’t stand a chance."

I know that the future of the feed that cattle eat is pretty much the same as what MSM outlets peddle as news these days...

I think the kid is lying again when he says he made nothing.

I think he made some profit, but he is scared that he said too much to the reporter, because he now fears that the Internal Revenue Service will visit him any minute and charge him with evading taxes.

If reporters were licensed by the federal government, this wouldn’t have happened.

Problem is, the kid is white.

Actually you’re wrong, the feed the cattle eat can, over time, produce a substance that makes Roses grow and bloom. The MSM news never produces such a wonderful result.

If they could, they wouldn't be in j-school!

A real live case my daughter was struggling with her math in college, enrolled in business school and decided that she was going to major in journalism instead as it was much easier and did not require a many credits in math and economics.

After a huge argument, offer of a math tutor, she spent one week in jschool and went back to business with a math tutor.

She graduated with a degree in business mgmt with an emphasis in marketing. She is single and 29 working her fourth job out of college, she keeps getting job offers and raises. She makes $90,000 as a senior digital analyst and weekly gets job offers for more money. She can do math, fix a leaking toilet and.. well maybe not the flat on her bike, she would ask her little brother with help for that.

Odd how the MSM NEVER falls for frauds that make liberals look vile...

Could it be that ‘those’ are fact checked?
