Second Graders Spend Recess Protesting Ferguson. Are They Too Young?

The 20-odd people chanting “Honk if you want justice,” on a New Bedford, Massachusetts sidewalk Dec. 12 got a lot of attention. They were second graders, rallying against police for the shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. While the rest of their class enjoyed 11:30 recess that morning, these 7 and 8-year-old protesters stood by the side of the road in front of the Alma Del Mar Charter School holding signs including one that read, “Please don’t shoot me, Ferguson.”...

Oh really? What if those same students wanted to protest in favor of the police? And in favor of the Grand Jury? I wonder if this guy is related to Kevin Jennings?!?

I know this took place in the liberal paradise of Massachusetts but I would think at least some of the parents of these kids would be livid about this. Those teachers should be fired.

I don’t think anyone should protest it. But this is an issue for their parents to decide. If they want to raise their kids to have the typical race chip on their shoulders then it is still somewhat of a free country. Go for it and reap what you sow.
