Colleges and universities are being educated by Washington and are finding the experience excruciating. They are learning that when they say campus victimizations are ubiquitous (micro-aggressions, often not discernible to the untutored eye, are everywhere), and that when they make victimhood a coveted status that confers privileges, victims proliferate. And academias progressivism has rendered it intellectually defenseless now that progressivisms achievement, the regulatory state, has decided it is academias turn to be broken to governments saddle.
Consider the supposed campus epidemic of rape, a.k.a. sexual assault. Herewith, a Philadelphia magazine report about Swarthmore College, where in 2013 a student was in her room with a guy with whom shed been hooking up for three months: Theyd now decided mutually, she thought just to be friends. When he ended up falling asleep on her bed, she changed into pajamas and climbed in next to him. Soon, he was putting his arm around her and taking off her clothes. I basically said, No, I dont want to have sex with you. And then he said, OK, thats fine and stopped. . . . And then he started again a few minutes later, taking off my panties, taking off his boxers. I just kind of laid there and didnt do anything I had already said no. I was just tired and wanted to go to bed. I let him finish. I pulled my panties back on and went to sleep.Six weeks later, the woman reported that she had been raped. Now the Obama administration is riding to the rescue of sexual assault victims. It vows to excavate equities from the ambiguities of the hookup culture, this cocktail of hormones, alcohol and the faux sophistication of todays prolonged adolescence of especially privileged young adults.

HEY! Who woke up old George Will?!
This is old, written back in June.
The ironic thing is that over the weekend protesters tried to block George Will from speaking at Michigan State. Meanwhile UVA president Sullivan was also at Michigan State and gave a speech referencing the Rolling Stone UVA story and not mentioning the hoax aspect.

Takes one to know one
But he only wants Jeb or Mitt for President. Give me a break.
The zombie-like Charles Krauthammer said the same thing. FoxNews in general is a mouthpiece for the GOPe and is beating the drum for JEB! even now.
I live in Idaho, but called Cruz's DC office today to let him know that I support him and oppose the DC criminal class and their shills on FoxNews and other media.
Victims?! They are the proponents of progressivism and all the victimhood notions that come with it.
“Meanwhile UVA president Sullivan was also at Michigan State and gave a speech referencing the Rolling Stone UVA story and not mentioning the hoax aspect.”
Sullivan has not lifted the suspension of fraternities and has promised to reform the fraternity system.
Meanwhile there has been one reported and investigated kidnapping, rape, and murder at UVA in the past year. The case of missing UVA student Hannah Graham made the national news until the body was found. The suspect in the case, Jessie Matthew, was an employee of the university hospital. He has been charged with other rapes, abductions and murders.
It is interesting President Sullivan suspended all fraternities and intends to reform them based on a hoax. No calls from Sullivan or the media for action with respect to hiring practices at the hospital? Why?
Self important NeoCon dope.
You’re at least 60 years behind the curve there, George.
Hey George so do National Columnists who
get drunk drinking Foggy Bottom water...
“UVA women face a much greater danger walking down Wertland Ave. towards downtown (like Hannah Graham did) than they do walking down Rugby Rd. past the fraternities. But it’s not politically correct to point that out.”
When I attended UVA, in the early 1970’s, rapes in the apartments along Rugby Road (University Circle and Grady Avenue in particular) were too common. All were perpetrated by non student members of the nearby “community”. Many fraternity members served as volunteers for the University escort service walking women from the library on campus to their apartments off campus. As you indicated, some of the harsh truths about the Charlottesville residents in neighborhoods near the University don’t fit the narrative and won’t be published in the Rolling Stone, much less the Washington Post and New York Times.
“HEY! Who woke up old George Will?!”
What a steaming pile of dog dukie this is! George, I beg to differ with you. You are viewing the situation with your telescope turned around! It’s the schools that have screwed up the government. Things won’t start getting better until we start purging the teaching staff’s at our colleges and universities. I just received my University of California Magazine. After thumbing through it in a matter of 60 seconds, I threw it into the waste basket. I guess I should let them know not to bother sending it any longer.
