Bankrupting a country is generally a first rate way to lose you job.

If this were true, Obamao would have been out of office after his first term.

He seems to an incompetent guy in foreign affairs, like a little North Korean bull in a China shop, floundering around, blustering and making feints everywhere, making outrageously impossible claims and threats that are just laughable, yet insane sounding.

Very similar to the man that we see with the semi nude photographs doing all the he-man activities, hunting shirtless, riding horses shirtless, fishing shirtless, yet without tanning, or sunburning, or seemingly any exposure to sunlight, he pulls trophy fish from streams without his clothes getting wet or dirty after a day of fishing and pulling in the photo op at the end of his line, and the diving discoveries and bizarre (again North Korean) type super everything guy from science to wild animals, to sports, to exploring.

The 5’5” man is not all there mentally.

Question for someone who knows about Russia...

Who would be in line to seize power and force him out?

Goodness. Now THAT really is the question, isn’t it? I would watch for some horrifying large scale version of the crew we installed in Ukraine. Basically, it’ll be someone that is very cozy with western central bankers and one-worlders.

Anybody else mentally substituting “Barack Obama” for Putin in the first sentence or two?

Another option would be to cause a major crisis which would drive up the price of oil, say fund a jihadi attack on the Saudi oil fields, or something similar.

He’s also been helping the Iranian nuclear program. Maybe he’d secretly welcome an Israeli strike on it, for the reasons you mention.

So the Russian economy drops 5% in GDP? That’s not a threat to his rule.

“Putin has blasted the West for what he feels is a U.S.-Saudi alliance to depress oil prices”

This is probably true. Takes care of a whole bunch of problems for both countries. Iran, Venezuela, Russia...

So that explains why all the Dems and RINOs have lost control of the congress. I was wondering. /s/

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, too. It's funny how we expect a recovering wreck of a country like Russia to throw out its leader in a recession while the greatest nation on earth tolerates its intentional and systematic destruction at the hand of its own leader without the slightest political opposition. I suspect the average Russian can more easily deal with economic decline than the average Westerner, given that Russians have fewer material comforts to begin with. But with oil prices collapsing with no end in sight, we shall see.

Even though he continues to be widely popular in his own country,...

This is probably based on his VERY HIGH polls!
If you lived in Russia, how would YOU respond to a poll question about Putin?!!!
