That he attempted to change the law is evident. But admitting it makes any other interpretation impossible. The courts (J. Roberts aside) will have no difficulty now overruling his exec order. Wonder why he gave the store away with this statement? Probably just cynical racist politics. He figures it will give him Increased latino support while losing little since “whites” are already mostly against him and blacks seen wedded to him no matter how his policies hurt anyone, blacks in particular. And of course there will be no real accountability come what may , given the R party leadership is under control
If no one does anything about it, a precedent will be made and they might as well write a revision to the Constitution.

That was my first thought too. No one will do anything about it, so why shouldn't he do it? He is going to do so much more in the next two years, that I think our heads will explode.
