A Pennsylvania limo driver says he lost his job, and his life was destroyed, when a ruthless undercover TLC inspector pulled a sting on him and seized his employers car at JFK Airport, leaving him stranded for days.
Michael Davis, 49, his wife and two young sons are now facing eviction from their Allentown, Pa., home after he was forced to fork over thousands of dollars to his former employer, who sued him for losing the town car.
It messed up my life, Davis told The Post, referring to his May 14 run-in with Felicia Harper, a member of the Taxi and Limousine Commissions notorious JFK squad.
Everything has been spiraling down, all because of that one woman.

call me skeptical on this one.
When someone is badgering you to do something illegal you can bet that it is a government sting. Just like in drugs, when someone is really nagging you to either buy or sell, ask to see his badge. If it really is a government official he'll get peeved that his cover is blown and if he isn't from the government he'll skeedaddle quickly.
The ground transportation industry...
Such a nice group of people.
Don’t be stupid. I’d have kicked out that passenger and called it a night.
His picture is in the print edition of the paper. He;’s black. I wonder if he can sue the TLC lady for civil rights violations.
These little fascists need to be taken down.
Actually very nice people I’ve dealt with.
I once ordered a regular shuttle van and to my surprise, they upgraded me to a luxurious limo at no extra charge.
I was impressed with the customer service.
You should get a prize for that.
Why is jfk to Laguardia considered an illegal fare for anybody? Is it because he’s out of state?
Guy by the name of Randy Weaver can attest to that.
He doesn’t have a NYC taxicab license. His company’s license is a limo license, licensed for other kinds of runs.
Sounds like they license the wazoo out of these things.
Still the approach the sting took was really a sick one. Wonder what would have happened if the driver kept on answering “Nothing. It’s free. On me.”
He’s a limo driver who was driving a customer from Allentown to JFK.
They would probably have punished him for that.
New York has strange rules for presceduled limo service versus cab pick-ups. I guess he crossed the boundary between the two by picking up someone and "charging" for it.
Where do you read that the driver was transporting a customer from Allentown, PA to JFK, NY?
Yes he is (I read the article after my initial post). I still believe there is more to it then what we are seeing here.
This is in the story. He had just transported a customer to JFK when the TLC lady started her scam.
He lives in Allentown, and that’s wehre the limo company is.
From the story:
The nightmare started minutes after Davis dropped off a customer at JFK and was approached by the undercover Harper, who was posing as a distraught traveler who claimed she had been accidentally dropped off at the wrong airport, OATH Taxi and Limousine Tribunal records show.
She was practically begging me to take her to LaGuardia or she was going to miss her flight, Davis said. She seemed like she needed help so I offered to do it for free on my way back home.
But Harper kept badgering the kindly driver to accept an illegal fare by repeatedly asking him, How much?
After being worn down, Davis finally responded by saying, Whatever, which alerted Harpers waiting partner, who forcibly snatched his keys and seized his vehicle.
