It’s their business and they can do what they wish but....

They should weigh each possible course of action and it’s outcome.

In this case the PR from what’s happening now is going to be worse.

Just my opinion.

Of all the unmitigated gall. Incredible. Sure hasn’t been the best week for the black race.

You can’t visit your problems on a 3rd party.

Bottom line: No refunds (and the dress shop should NOT capitulate).

“...Amber Vinson’s Dallas attorney asked that Coming Attractions Bridal & Formal refund $480 in dress payment...”

Vinson’s attorney’s billing hours for requesting this refund likely exceeds $480. I expect Vinson will now be suing everyone and their uncle for whatever “damages” she can get. Disgusting.

I would tell her to take a short walk off a tall building.

This makes no sense. She feels badly that the shop underwent such scrutiny because of her, so she asks for her money back? She should be offering to pay extra for the dresses! I suspect they found dresses elsewhere and are just using this as an excuse. Fat lot of nerve.

She should be sued for the losses suffered as a result of her knowing she might be sick.

Deduct her refund from what she owes them.

They already had to close down and get the place cleaned. I’m sure they lost bu$ine$$ because of her. Now she wants her deposit back on the dresses. There is usually a grace period for getting back deposits which she’s now long past. Those dresses should already be ordered and on the dressmaker’s table for alterations. Vinson now wants the shop to eat the bill on the dresses? No way. This is good publicity for the store and bad for Nurse Vinson who hasn’t garnered much sympathy out in cyberspace.

Madagascar (off coast of Africa) is having a ‘black death’ emergency...and with E bola on the other coast of Africa, it behooves me that these people are so concerned with the small things...like a dress. She should have stayed put, and not cost those people all that money over her lack of quarantine.

The fact that they lost money when the store was closed because of her was stated in the story and I had read it before I made my post.

They feel that what they are doing will increase their business. I hope they are right.

Me? I might have thought on it a bit longer.

PR can be a tricky thing.

My husband knows this owner.

There is no business left. PR is now irrelevant.

Vinson should reimburse the bridesmaids herself. And she deserves to be sued by the store. Entitlement attitude. If the store owner is white expect a charge of racism to follow.
