Greens take Keystone protest to (still exempt) Landrieu's home

About two dozen protesters against the Keystone XL pipeline turned out in bleak weather Monday morning outside Sen. Mary Landrieu’s Washington home to protest her quest for a bill supporting the $8 billion project, which is set for a vote Tuesday.

The demonstrators who showed up for a mass chant of “Stop this pipeline” and “No KXL” targeted Landrieu, rather than the pipeline’s other vocal backers in both parties, in part as a warning to Democrats against going wobbly on Keystone. They also unfurled a mock inflatable pipeline.

“I don’t understand that, why she’s selling herself out, why she can’t understand the disaster of the Gulf oil spill … and what a KXL spill would mean in any of the states that it comes across,” said Art Tanderup, a Nebraska landowner who hosted an anti-Keystone concert with Willie Nelson and Neil Young in September. “We’re not only fighting Republicans. We’re fighting a lot of Democrats this time around.”

“I don’t understand that, why she’s selling herself out..."

While standing outside her mansion? Put the Greens on the 'stupid' list.

......why she can’t understand the disaster of the Gulf oil spill

Yes it is the largest eco-disaster in mankind's history! The entire Gulf is literally an oil basin with thick fat globs of dirty, greasy slimy oil contaminating every gulf beach and shoreline - EVERYWHERE! My goodness! /s

Had it not been "concern trolled" to death in the news, no one would even realize that there had been a spill at all now. Obama and his FAFLOTUS did some gulf-side commercials soon after about "Come on Down! Water's Fine" didn't he? He even thought things were so good his agencies didn't even take take up on the foreign offers of help with sea-skimmers....

Capitol Hill has become a gentrified, sought-after neighborhood, but it’s still a stretch to call Capitol Hill rowhouses “mansions.” The news stories place Landrieu’s house on East Capitol, where houses tend to be somewhat larger than on the side streets. but aside from a few modern infills, these houses were built a century ago as middle class residences.

If the Greens were part of the defeat of the bill last night, and thus Baby Fat’s demise, then MORE POWER TO THEM.

The game is still on in DC. Landrieu gets her vote to show she's pro-energy, and SURPRISE it falls just one short of the 60 needed for passage. And the 'pubs get to show how solid they are for protecting energy. And nothing actually gets done.

Now show us something real, like how you're going to stop Obama from completing the invasion of the US. And getting rid of ObamaCare...the 'pubs own that now, since they saved it as a campaign issue and won. Then do a real vote on Keystone when you've got a majority.

IOW, astroturf — her entire desperate campaign to succeed in the runoff revolves around her phony support for Keystone XL.
