And murderer by proxy.
I have a slightly different take. I refuse to give Huck and Santorum credit for being the "only pure" social conservatives in the race - it's just that their campaigns remain fixated on just those issues....and for some of these Caucus voters, they're going to vote for who yaks about it the most, regardless of how some other much better candidates might be just as reliable. They're voting for national Preacher it seems. That's why Cruz will only peel away some of this support - because he's not going to talk simply about that.
They had no problem voting for GWB in 2000, despite Alan Keyes and Gary Bauer being in the race.
That too.
1. Cruz, 2. Walker (Ryan wont if Walker does), 3. Christie, 4. Paul, 5. Jeb or Rubio (one wont if the other does), 6. Huckabee I guess reading this, 7. Carson or some other outsider, 8. Perry, 9. Kasich, 10. Maybe Romney
A few other possibilities: Rick Santorum, Michele Bachmann, Mike Pence and Carly Fiorina
Santorum seems a certainly unless he's said something I'm not aware of. And there have been mentions of the other three.
The chances of cracking a dozen primary candidates looks pretty 'good' as of now.
Problem is the little blue haired church ladies love him...
Wish we had a way to increase the RINO field and cut the true conservative field to one or two.
LOL how would we ever agree on who was in which category?
On FR we will shred each other over 5% disagreement.
We can't control the former, but we can control the latter. Our best bet is Rush, Sean, Mark and Glenn meeting in a smokey back room and backing Ted early. I know that Sean and Mark are good friends. Mark and Glenn have been getting along recently. I'm not sure where Rush stands in regard to the other three. He rarely mentions any of them.
Limiting the conservative field has been discussed occasionally. Laura Ingraham has mentioned it a few times and maybe some of the others. Still no real plan, but there’s little doubt that conservative vote splitting gave us McCain and Romney, and we basically allow blue states to pick the Republican nominee.
If you are trying to use this to debunk my theory, you're out of luck. Like Cruz, GWB would be in a position to siphon off some of this bloc. Moreover, I would not put Keyes in this group, nor would I over look the abject weakness of the Keyes and Bauer's campaigns and candidacies - and the inevitability of Bush's nomination at that point.
The fact that Bauer and Keyes got any votes speaks to my theory's validity.
HAH...actually, they (meaning that 30% I am referring to) had a HELLUVA hard time voting for Bush.
Keyes and Bauer, pathetically weak candidates, combined for 23% - so actually Bush was a distant third at best among this group of voters I refer to. My theory actually proven by 2000, not discredited.
Cruz, or nothing.
